Very true, agree absolutley.
(though i cant imagine doing what your doing 'for my parents'
having me and raising me, as far as im concerned, does not entitle them AT ALL (or even close) to something on that level that affects my whole life.

agreed. I hate people who have to justify themselves by having boyfriends or girlfriends every moment of their lives. Be yourself. "Live for something, not someone" is my favorite quote. But hey, Im major anti-relationship so who am I to talk? |

Well Im actually getting married to someone I know but havent really talked to her its an arrange marraige...All my friends and people who know me are shocked LOL but Hey I had all my fun that I wanted to have been in numerous relationship So I have no regrets.....Well its like a tottaly different thing then what im used to so im actually looking forward to it...Well be fun:-
On our wedding night....Hi my name is Umair .....I like Shawarmas what do you like?....LOL my fav color is blue whats urs?....ahhahah
Its like a blind date converted into a life long partnership. |

| I don't think he's joking, and honestly I used to be fundamentally against arranged marriages but then had to eat a piece of humble pie and realize that was only because that was the way I was brought up. Face it, caucasian anglophones compromise a very small percentage of the world's population. There are lots of other ways to find happiness. |

Im not condemning you, or anyone for that matter, for hopping into an arranged marriage.. it really intrigues me actually..I dont know, I just see it as throwing away your free will. You never wanted that whole disney fairy tale.. marry the perfect guy/girl who you fell head over heels in love with kinda marriage? I dont know, I really just dont get arranged marriages. But as long as you're happy I have no reason to say anything at all
.. like I said before, Im really anti-relationship so marrying someone I didnt know would be something I would only do in a life or death situation haha. Maybe thats why its so out there to me. I know I wouldnt be happy forced into a life long relationship with someone whos name I might not even know. Scary. |

very good point.
but.. why wouldnt you want to break down old barriers and traditions set by the older generations and do what makes you happy..
Making my parents happy isnt at the top of my list, like I love them, but I never ever ever would marry someone they chose for me. |

What makes me happy is everyday when I wake up and see that excitement on my mom and dads face about how there's only 7 months left to my wedding and my sisters who are already worrying about what they will wear @ my wedding and where it will be held to me all this excitement in their eyes is priceless. |
