Yeah, I didn't intend for any negative sentiments regarding women on this one...I was hoping both men AND women (as they did) would come and post their multicultural experiences...it's fun! And when you have some common experiences with your fellow TAs that just gives you one more thing to talk about when you meet up! I think it's all in good fun and to possibly get to know more about each other (which is ALL I'm about!) I hear ya, Tracy! ;) :D

I'm not sure how many of them I "pleasured" I'm sure it was more of a displeasure as you can imagine my n00biness in the earlier years! :p Like I said, I didn't have sex with 90% of the girls on that list...for me, dating was a very innocent concept. OMG I love Scandinavian women!!! :D :D :D When I lived in Saudi Arabia I used to attend all the Philips Ericsson compound (foreigners' residence) parties with all the Swedes. OMG they were the best partiers (way better than the Americans who only listened to Kriss Kross and MC Hammer all the time :wtf: ). My Swedish friends introduced me to Metallica, G'N'R, and Nirvana!!! And I WISH I could add this Finnish girl, Leena Norio to my list, but alas she was only a friend. I had the BIGGEST crush on her for 8th and 9th grade!!!! :( I'll have to scan and post her pic!!! :tongue3 |

I don't think including someone who is from a different background or race makes me a nimrod or assclap.
Besides, the thread is based on culture, not ethnicity, and blacks certainly have a different culture in their history, no matter how in tune they are with it. |

See, this is exactly why I maintain that there is *barely* any difference between multiculturalism and racism.
How does someone have a different culture simply because they are black? What if they're a 3rd-generation Canadian that lives in Richmond Hill? (and yes, there are some black families in that area)
Did the people who said "black" even know what "culture" these people embraced? Were they Tunisian? Nigerian? Moroccan? Jamaican? South Africa? Maybe they were from the Bahamas, or Barbados, or the Dominican Republic? There are practically hundreds of "black" cultures, and countries where the population is chiefly black. It makes no more sense to list "black" as a culture than it does to list "yellow". Is that how I should refer to Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and Cambodians, because oh, let me guess, they all look the same? Don't even try to hide it, I know that's what you were thinking when you said BLACK.
Lumping all blacks into a single cultural category is racist, because it carries the very clear implication that blacks are monocultural and don't have any ethnic diversity worth mentioning, contrary to whites where people always distinguish between Swedish, French, Polish, American, etc. |

No, no, no, Mr. Nut, that's not what I meant. I wasn't suggesting what the ARE, but merely what they are not, and that's similar to me. Yes, this could be interpreted in manners that one could suggest everyone is different, but...
In the descriptive chart that shows skin color, cultural background, etc., they're non-white, non-German, etc., whatever.
I just look at myself and see white bread, and try to think of who I've dated that isn't like me. Don't forget, I'm from Buffalo, the most non-diverse city in the land (k. i'm exaggerating), where most people here see white as white, and if you hear a different language spoken, you see people cracking their neck wondering what the is going on.
To further clarify, I see all people as one (from an acceptance perspective), whether they're a black African, black Canadian, black Frenchman, white African, brown Muslim, brown Hindu, brown Englishman, etc. |

While that's a good point in principle, I believe there are still some circumstances where it's warranted for people to express their negative opinion about some things...
...if racism or sexism (other than breast/ass loving of course :p) was the theme of any particular thread, I would be VERY offended and would definitely flame the author. However, everyone who expressed their negative opinion of this thread knows me personally, so I hope my intentions would never be questioned.
However, this thread (which I meant to be harmless) can easily be misinterpreted as a "I have the biggest penis" thread and I would prefer to reserve those reactions to d!abolic's famous threads! ;) :p Or, it could be misinterpreted as racist; if one group prefers a certain culture over the other. And obviously, sexist, as all the comments about women have been coming out.
So, I understand the negativity and if it truly were malintentioned, I would think of it as totally appropriate. However, that wasn't the point, and most of the derogatory comments were from people who know each other and were merely joking so...
