^^ and i mean that in a good way
Maybe Im too selfish, I dont know.. I come first in my life, not my family

Nothing wrong with what you're doing....Its you're life you steer it the way you want to go....Not everyone can be a Heart Surgeon or F16 pilot.....Some people become teachers some engineers.....All respectable Professions still.

So dont worry just be happy and continue in whatever direction you have chosen for yourself.

YOU SHUT UP!!! lol

Umair, bro, so proud of you. Good for you! Representing the culture well! :) When I was going through my wedding prep my sisters were happy and although Mom was supportive, she was always hiding that layer of disappointment. It was tough. I didn't break it off for her, it was because of issues between her and me, so I at least have a clear conscience about it. I can't wait until the next REAL relationship because I want to see that exact priceless happiness that you describe! :)

I guess it's because I've hung around non-Pakistanis most of my young adult life that I really never got to meet those Pakistanis who are more modern and open to meeting up, dating, getting to know each other before the issue of marriage comes up. I guess I'm from a slightly older generation where I'd never heard of such a thing, at least in my circle of family friends.

I am different from you in one sense, though, and I'm still sorta confused about my identity in that I hate the loneliness of being out of a relationship. I really need to have that special person I can talk to at the end of the day, someone to go to the movies with and share those special moments. I really miss that. I feel like I have so many things in life that I want to share with that life-long partner and that the energy and affection I have will only gain meaning once I'm with someone. That's a big part of my personality and although I have friends and enjoy their company immensely, it's nothing like having that special love.

lol that was pretty cheesy, even by my standards!!! :p I'm an idealist when it comes to relationships and unfortunately that has ended in heartache in every relationship I've been in...I blindly believe in that fairy-tale sort of romance. :(

Finally!!! That annoying music is gone.

So yeah, I have an update. God bless those people who have successful interracial or multicultural relationships (i.e. marriage or whatever else they're looking for).

Thank you Fufu :D I love it that my interracial relationship began as a friendship, blossomed into something amazing for the past 13 years and I am finally getting married next year  :D :D

My parents NEVER pressured into me marrying within the same culture. They always said "marry whoever you want, if we have done our job in raising you with values then you will make the appropriate decisions for yourself".

At a certain age I realized that even if I don't marry within my cultures I would definitely like to marry within my religion. Here I am today, pursuing the goals I had set for myself long time ago :D:D

Fahad- I respect you for who you are hun, TRUST me its all gonna happen in due time. I'm a firm believer that good things happen to good ppl and you my brother are a good person :) well sometimes hahahaha love you

I tottaly Understand what you're saying, and clearly see where you're coming from.....The thing with me is Im a very light hearted person who always likes to keep himself busy with something so that I dont think about those lil things that I dont have in life yet be happy about all the things I do have in life......I wish life was that easy that you think of something and it happens and comes in front of you.....What I would advise you as a friend is to focus all you're attention towards other good things in life that you have and that keep you busy...There is always someone that is pre determined for everyone....When the time will be right it will happen when you least expect it....So dont just sit down and take notes on every single thing you dont have ....... Be thankful about all the things you do have (BMW, nice job) something any guy would dream of....

Just keep yourself busy is the key here.
