I think it is so hot right now. and it has nothing to do with acting/being gay. It is just HOT!!

With me being a predominantly gay dude - I have had the joy of many females as friends (a good number of them extremely good looking as well).

Many times in a club setting we have had fun - danced dirty - slapped each others assess......

It was what it was - fun - non-threatening and sexy.

Quite often it is the female initiating and encouraging the behaviour - and it is up to me to decide if I let it continue or not.

Some of my girlfriends saw it as a game (get the other straight guys all hot and bothered) some saw it as a way to release sexual tension and be expressive without worry of subversive intent, hell sometimes I am sure that the girls derived their own pleasure fantasies out of it unbeknownst to me.

Many girls like to go out with their gay friends to gay clubs for many reasons...

the freedom to dance without being oggled and groped constantly
to be sexually free - without being branded a whore
the attention they get from the guys who are gay (ego-boosts and all)

But the "preying on/acting gay" mentality is kinda creepy and as a few have mentioned this is not typically a normal thing among the gay community from what I have seen personally.

Bisexual guys - now there is a different story.

In my experiences:

Most bi-guys like the girl aspect more - and just are open minded to the closeness of a man to man friendship and the fooling around that it can entail because guys are always horny.

This is where some intention can be blurred and misread or mis-interpreted - when you are now including a 100% pool of sexuality to choose from (guys and girls as potential mates) - reasons for sexual union become less clearly defined and more emotionally/sporadically declared as reasons for craving one over the other. Having the best of both worlds can be a curse or a blessing. Each individual makes their choices accordingly.

There are many reasons why people are attracted to each other and sometimes we are not even sure why some people evoke a sexual stimulation in us while towards others we feel nothing.

So until I can bust it out on the dancefloor with my hot boyfriend. I will continue to enjoy the straight women in my life (and a couple of gay ones as well!!) wanting to dance it up with me and partake in some harmless flirting and display of our sexual freedoms. And for the record a few of my close guy friends have also partaked in this flirting as well - and much respect to you - I love you for it!

I hope that I personally have never offended anyone in this manner - for it was never intentional nor with hidden agenda. I usually take my cues from others - so as to not fall into a sticky situation - and I would hope that someone who was offended would of made it clear to me so as I may correct any such behaviour for future.

Interesting thread for sure.........

I have many types of friends for many reasons - some are more clearly defined than others but in the end - they are friends because they make me happy. Happy to be myself and happy to bring joy to their lives through our friendship and the moments we share.

:D

Much Respect dude, very well put.

I wanted to assimilate Worf in the game Star Trek: Borg.

Never got to. That sucked. :sadgreen:

Actually, there is. Just because you have enough confidence to tell the person to stop, doesn't mean everyone else does. For example, what if that person is a friend of a friend, and you think you're going to cause a scene by telling him to stop? I've seen it happen many times before.

Please don't assume to speak for all girls in all situations.

Right on Greenhorn.

Even a lot of the ones who claim to call the shots and stand up to creeps often don't when push comes to shove.

for the record, I'm fine with any of our lovely TA ladies (or guys) giving me a hug, a peck on the cheek, or a friendly little slap on the ass on the dancefloor. Consider this my formal consent until I tell you otherwise.

and please check with your bf first...I'd hate to have to knock their punk ass out if they get all up in mah grill. :p

Thing is no one would complain if the shoe was on the other foot....
Has anyone hear ever had their package grabbed by some random girl on a dancefloor??As much as having it grabbed is fun i dont really like when someone i dont know does it.

You're right, it did...but as always the main point of this thread was taken out of context and people were arguing over things that were not even an issue at the beginning.

And Sean...you think you were singled out?...your name wasn't even brought up until you posted a novel spilling your guts about your sexual preferences and activities.

Fair enough.....

But you know what - in hindsight - I do not think I should have posted any other way.

I have thought a fair bit about this thread today (even had a ed up dream about it last night).

Things accomplished:

- I defended my position.
- Became more aware of my actions.
- I tried to dispel some rumours about numerous points within this thread.
- Made some things known to those that maybe did not know and were wondering.
- Gave some insight into what it means to be me.
- Talked some things through with a couple of people as a result (Jeff your return post is much appreciated - thank you :) )
- Garnered some new respect and reaffirmed those whose support I can rely on totally (you know who you are thanks for the PM's and posts!)
- Created an open dialogue for discussion (what these forums are for).
- Learned more about people and how they view me (always useful - good or bad).

and I am happy for all these reasons as stated above.......although there are a few things that are still unaccomplished.

Things unaccomplished:

- Backing down and shutting down (old habit - I AM PROUD!)
- Dispelling many other gay myths/misconceptions as there are many
- Still have not received any PM's or MSN comments from anyone who has also been subjected to my uncomfortable behaviour as per documentation in this thread (dialogue has been opened - I have given you your chance to speak up and out - no one choose to take me up on my apology or explain their disdain????)

this very last thing not accomplished is the worst :(

(actually the dispelling of other gay myths/misconceptions trumps this in the larger sense - but Rome wasn't built in a day right? - and for the record I have NOT made this my GAY-BIBLE THUMPING MISSION! lol! )

but the dialogue being left open and no one seeking the opportunity to privately, constructively and without fear of judgement - add some closure to their ill thoughts of me with me - tells me a few things by default.

1. No one feels this way about me and this is a conspiracy.....
(please, please be #1!!!!)
2. You enjoy being victimized.
3. Refuse to be free from the comfort that using this against me brings you.
4. We are not friends.
5. You would rather relish in petty gossip and be negative than use an opportunity to create praise and postiveness.
6. Made comments without thinking and therefor guilty by association.
7. Not ready to forget or even forgive.
8. And in all fairness - just not ready......??

I am sure all those who truly THINK about these last 7 points can see why I CANNOT let these control my heart/head ANYMORE than I have admitted to in this thread.

Sorry I am not mentally or emotionally up for it.

I have spent enough time trying to show everyone how WIKKID WIKKID I am.

Either you think it or you don't..........

And to add a bit of "soundtrack music" to this latest life drama - this song speaks volumes (or it does to me - it has been my favourite songs for weeks now......)

ALONE TONIGHT - ABOVE AND BEYOND

Slipping sideways 'til the stars collide
Fade away just like our love had died
And there is nowhere in this universe to hide...from you tonight
I've wrestled with angels...all my life
It's always the halos and the wings that keep you blind
And if I fall with all the strength I held inside
I wouldn't be out here alone tonight
I wouldn't be standing alone tonight
I wouldn't be standing alone tonight
I wouldn't be standing alone tonight
I wouldn't be standing alone tonight

Alone tonight just like the western star, I'm sinking.
The angels curse me blind with straight and crooked thinking
Alone tonight just like the western star, I'm sinking.
The angels curse me blind with straight and crooked thinking

Slipping sideways 'til the stars collide
Fade away just like our love had died
And there is nowhere in this universe to hide...from you tonight
I've wrestled with angels...all my life
It's always the halos and the wings that keep you blind
And if I fall with all the strength I held inside
I wouldn't be out here alone tonight

I live in Maryland, and haven't been back to Ontario, or Toronto in a while. While I don't know you, we would likely be friends if I did. You are definately on of the more intelligent people on this forum when I read it.

As for here in Maryland. This state is far more open minded than in most of U.S., and in alot of EDM clubs here such as Cubik, and Glow while they are not labelled as Gay Clubs, the crowd is pretty much mixed, and problems rarely occour. I have alot of straight friends, and gay friends, and sexuality is not a criteria I use to determine who my friends are. Responsiblity, manners, and education are traits immune to sexuality. Alot of gay people in this area come from other countries, and parts of this country such as the redneck South, and possibly due to the abuse they got there, have low self esteem, and thus participate in self destructive activities such as reckless sex, and crystal meth ( alot of straight people do that as well ).

As for the people who talk alot of bull about "family values" in this country they are full of . Especially since they support a president that won't guarentee health care to every family in this country, and cut support to low income families. And when do you ever hear the Right Wingers crusage against Marital Infidelity, drug abuse, alcoholism, & child poverty. Alot of the people just use "family values" as an excuse for bigotry, and pick a few verses out of the bible to justify their actions, just as they did to justify their disdain for interracial relationships in the 1960s. In this day and time, especially in the South, gays have become the "******s" of today. No one in the right mind would walk up to a bunch of black people and call them that. And I think the reason alot of people pick on gays is simply because they are cowards and don't think they'll get their asses kicked, and yet sometimes they are wrong. In fact nearby in Arlington, Virginia there is even a gay gun club, and I really don't think anyone would walk up and call them a "fag".
One thing I notice lately is more of ignorant people getting made fun of, such as on websites such as www.landoverbaptist.org, and that the current right wing administration can't goovern any better than Brian Mulruney did. The Bush administration has abandoned almost every "family" in Lousiana, when it came time to step up to the plate. I think the U.S. is now about as right wing fundamentalist as it will ever get
