let what people do in the bedroom stay in the bedroom... |
See, that's always been my thought, and what I'm trying to say here. I really don't care that someone is gay, in fact I have a much easier time getting along with gay guys (most of the time). I just think it's lame to take "pride" in one's sexuality, or as a country to take pride in what types of sexuality you support.
When straight dudes get in people's faces about their sexuality, people generally tend to think of them as insecure jerks... why should it be any different for gay dudes? |

this is a fairly double standard opinion to have in this type of thread....this is like saying:
Gay guys are a funny group....it's like they were dropped on their head when they were a baby and now they love to suck........ |

..i only hope you aren't including me as "some idiot" or a "dick".
If you read this thread from the beginning you will see how not once have I used one racial slur towards the gay community, or singled out one person. I'll spell this out as clearly as i can and hopefully everyone can follow it.
I can't speak for Jeff, but I'm pretty sure we're on the same page and he can correct me if I'm wrong. So here's the scenerio....
We're both out a club with our girlfriends, we're having a drink at the bar while the girls are dancing, gay/bi guys (that are fully aware of them having boyfriends) proceed to grind, grab their hips and ass, dance dity with them...and continue to do so even when the girls back away. Now here's when either 2 things can happen:
a) i treat the guy like any other guy and punch him in the teeth...which will lead to me being portrayed as a gay hating ass hole...because, afterall, "they're gay...they're just having fun"
b) i brush it off, because "they're gay...they're just having fun"
And thats what we're trying to say...no matter how you respond to this, the outcome will always be the same. I have no problem with people being gay...but if you want to be treated like everyone else, you want your equal rights...no problem, you want to get married...no problem, you wanna grab my girlfriends ass...get ready to suffer the consequences like everyone else. |
Or like a sensible human being, you come up to the guy and say, thats my girlfriend, dont ever let me catch you doing that again.
If the guy is like, "its okay im gay", you tell him that you dont care who it is...It makes her uncomfortable and you too. Your problem is your already resorting your options to either one extreme or the other...when there are more, this is also called the Excluded Middle Fallacy.
Listen, no one is calling you a homo basher! but if youre going to bring a proper debate, then stop resorting to fallicious reasoning to answer your line of questioning...Teh first post was firstly an attack at "A lot" of gay men who do this so called "groping women"!! Which is wrong...but obviously this has come from somewhere, and since Sean was trying to make answers of this, not defending these people. He was defending his own theory and opinions of what it looks like to him in his more expertise at the subject...that is being gay and have opted both sides....Instead Jeff calls him out and tries to make something of it. This is where the thread got ugly, and you guys fail to see that this becomes more an oversight on the original argument and questioning, and then became an inquisition on the someone in the gay community who posts here.
Its a select number of them that do it, and you leave it at that...perhaps people are seeking sympathy for their cause by reminding us that its these perverts that are the wrong ones, but somewhere along the lines of questioning, something went off that should of been left unsaid, and now this new argument is present about who said what and covering up that should of been said. WHEW A MOUTHFUL or whuttt!:p
You guys need to recognize it was most likely a mistake and thats it. They have probably resolved their differences and you joining in like some bandwagon croonies need to let it go away...
And 5hiftn6ears, if you read my posts, I was saying how it was brought to be a generalization. I didnt say that YOU made it a generalization. Your involvement has been if anything more detrimental towards Jeff's case with your weak points and arguments, so no need to think anyone here is shifting any blame on you. I was just pointing how you said The End like as if one story can answer everyones problem here. No one said that it wasnt plausible...its that no one believes its as bad a situation as the OP made it to be. |

Hah, it's great how Canada is quickly becoming the "we love gays" country.
I don't have a problem with gay people, at all, but to be honest I'm a little mortified that that's the image we project to the rest of the world. Not that there's a lot of opportunity here, or a high standard of living here, but that we "accept everyone's beliefs". Yuck. :wtf:
|
Loving gay people and being open minded two different things no? |

This is my point!!!....that is the statement that i have a problem with...and really thats the only problem I've had in this thread. It's used sometime like a get out of jail free card. I would never mess around with my buddies gf...does that mean i can touch her ass and just say to him "..don't worry man, I'm your best friend, i wouldn't do anything".....do you see what i'm getting at?....i dunno maybe i'm not expressing my opinions properly |

No need for me to correct you Steve - the example you gave has happened on SEVERAL occasions the past few months. It's almost becoming comical. (like this thread) |

yeah well the obvious thing is to go up to the guy and tell him to bugger off...if he continues...insert a. foot into b. his mouth. Its not an anti gay thing. |
