i read this gtr interview on trackitdown and thought it made pretty interesting reading, one of the more controversial interviews i have read about trance. what do you think?

yeah i don't think he's really been away from the whole formulaic uplifting sound long enough to make brash statements like that. judging by the recent 5am stuff i can see where he's coming from, but it was the big trance sound he's slating that got him where he is now, to be fair
the interview is pretty interesting all the same.. i read it earlier this week |

good stuff -- one of the rare non-cookie-cutter interviews.
what struck me as more honest than the "95%" comment, was gareth calling out low-tier wankers who try to prop themselves up by ting on everyone and the god-awful trend of producers acting like djs...
too bad he can't name names out of professional courtesy. |

| I think his comments are pretty accurate. At least that's the way that I feel about trance these days. Which is exactly why I moved on towards other genres. |

thought the same. funny thing is that when you visit his website most of his samples on the production section is boring generic stuff you heard hundreds of times before :) |

i didn't think that was too bad actually. not cheesy at any rate
infact checking the samples on his site i think everything he's done from bouncebackability onwards has been pretty decent, minus the first lange collab which i didn't rate that much |
