King Ecnal, thank you for you wise words. As always you explain the world to us.

Thank you so much for that, without you I wouldn't know what to think, what to feel and what to like.

THANK YOU!

You're Welcome...

I hate the NBA, much like I hate the NHL... BUT, I don't even acknowledge the NHL even exists anymore, because they decided to have ANOTHER strike two seasons ago, so I don't even care to comment on that horse league... the NBA is different, I hate, but I still care enough to comment on how much I hate... so I really care? I dont know, but thats my story, lol...

so what was the team you liked when you cared about the NBA?

My team will always be Orlando.

in my opinion, the NBA is going through the end of their transitional phase, and going to start a new era very soon, about next year or two, depending on the talent pool in the draft. i have loved the nba since those old fogies boston celtics, showtime lakers, bad boys detroit pistons, and that denver nuggets-golden state warriors-utah jazz teams that lit up the scoreboard(before phoenix started doing it this year). of course there is a significant difference between the 80s, the 90s, and this decade.

two of the most important things have changed between now and then: 1. rivalries and 2. free agency. there are no rivalries in the nba right now. however, there maybe a nice heated rivalry brewing between san antonio and dallas, detroit and indiana, and cleveland and miami. these 3 matchups are going to be very good for the next couple of years. i still remember the old chicago-detroit, new york-chicago, and new york-indiana rivalries. there were some classic playoff games.

a big thing that has changed the game is free agency. a lot of players are getting either greedy, or teams always look for fresh faces every 3 to 5 years. i think kevin garnett is the longest active tenured player with 1 team at the moment. strange.

but no matter how much the nba changes, i still love this game. it's fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnntassstic! :p

who feels Kevin G's pain!! Personally he started the new era. Lets just say 120 million lol. When I first heard about his salary he wanted I laughed but he started the "oh its not about the $$ era" bunch of BS.Then came sahq and then....The NBA went from Skill and hard to find talent to Talent and who has it gets the $$$. Plus lets take a look at the recent drafts.

old skool : MJ was 3rd.. seems normal because #1 did not always turn out a lengend.

now: HS players. NBA became a young mans game but they got rid of that for now.

future: International players on the rise and latest #1 picked first. Lets just say USA was 3rd in the Olympics:whip:

Yeah what are the good matchups. Gives a good reason to go to that game or hit the bars. Yeah Knicks vurse bulls. Starks did dunk over MJ but MJ dunked their who entire team into the ground with his Carrer avg against them I think it was 30+ lol

in the end its where the $$ is at. Thats why trades and free agents and who can afford and can't are the reasons players are going all over the place. Most teams have this one bad year and one good year and then the players dissapear. Only teams that are sticking togther are..San Antonio, Dallas, Suns, Bulls,detroit.. thats why all other teams are up and down because they cna't hold on to players more than 2-3 years.

grew up with the C's obviously... Larry Legend, McHale, Chief, Reggie Lewis... DEE BROWN!!!!

But I was in the minority when Danny Ainge traded Toine... I loved Toine... yeah he hurled 3's like they were going out of style, but he was the ONLY, well him and Walter were the two Pitino guys I liked.... yet I look back, and those Pitino years were so in depressing.... jesus... now Red dies, and the team s it up more than ever, Pierce goes down.... what a show....

with that being said, Paul Pierce is the in man, but he's got no supporting cast... therefore, the NBA to me.... is TMac, Lebron and Pierce, I really don't give a about anyone else... Arenas too, because he's on my fantasty team, but thats it!

I know, NHL is the WORST league in the world, hands down...

But the best league in the world is the NFL, and everyone knows it. NFL can DO no wrong it seems, the success they got is crazy... NBA might be more international... but NFL PWNZ all...

what the F lol. When i saw the Pat Riley I did even wait to go to my favorites for cbssportsline I typed it in my browser asap. Dag your right. LOL Man after him and Phil Jackson leaves the NBA is no more.

Yeah right. I would never give in like those na sayers out there. Its a NBA of 2000 and beyond. Thats all. Pat Riley is the man. Sucks this season left him "limping and in pain" Man if the heat don't make the playoff it just be like Pittsburgh lol. Damn I talked about another sport. :whip: When Shaq gets healthy I don't see the Heat winning the championship again unless after the All-star game they turn their season around completly. West is no F'n joke. East....no words yet..I'll give them 10-20 games after the all-star game then all bets are off

there's no way in hell the Heat will win the championship again...even though I'm a huge Shaq fan he's just way to damn slow now. No way he can keep up with the fast tempo pace teams are starting to copycat from the Suns.

in other news, memphis defeats don nelson's golden state warriors 144-135 with NO OVERTIMES.

that's the formula! get don nelson to coach all the below to sub .500 teams, and have them play against each other! that way, all of them have no defense, but know how to score. then, nba scores would regularly be in the 120-130 range every night! how could we have been so stupid to overlook don nelson being the solution to bring scoring up in basketball games? if his team ain't scoring 100, his opponents will.

why they got rid of Memphis coach I have no idea. Freakin d00d took them to the playoffs. Just like my man aldeman. Now the Sac suck. Sucks you can't fire bad players but fire great coaches
