Luckily this job is only temporary until I start the apprenticeship for Local 3 (electricians union in NYC). It's not so much that it was short-staffed, it was just the people there were doing NOTHING. In a sense it did feel that we were under-staffed because I was the only person doing something. It was actually realllllllllly slow lastnight, but that doesn't mean it's time to dick around and bs the whole time. I guess I have a different work ethic than the people that work there. I know in the coming weeks it's gonna get crazy. Can't wait till it's all over.
And thanks for your sympathies :)
On another note, I definitly didn't think I was gonna make it home from school today. My Jeep is so running on gas fumes right now. I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to getting gas. I've been lucky that I've never ran out (knock on wood). Oh yeah, and it's ING COLD outside today.

I am SOO freakin ***boreeeed** of Roosevelt Field -- even with its facelift, still sucks...that was the mall that I was closest to during my jhs years (maybe thats why i hate it so much). i had to endure living in Little Neck and the ppl there for awhile when I was younger cuz my family moved there...i hate Lil Neck and all surrounding suburbs!!! :whip: :whip: :whip: |
The palisades sucks. Its right near where yuis grew up so I have been there a million times. For as big as it is, I NEVER find that gerat of stores....not worth the travel.
If you are gonna travel up that way I would def suggest going to the outlets!! |

so you're not going to become a math teacher? |
|

Holy , you remembered. I'm impressed! No, I'm not gonna become a teacher. It was definitly a big decision I had to make. It wasn't something that took me a day to decide, it took me close to two weeks with my parents help. They didn't pressure me into doing one or the other, even though I felt my dad really wanted me to become an electrician since he's in the same union. I figured this is a job here now that pays well with great benefits. It's really hard to pass up an opportunity like that. In a perfect world, I would become a math teacher. Perfect meaning everything goes well with school (no set-backs), do my student teaching in a timely manner and get placed at a good school district on Long Island that's close to me. If this other job didn't come up, I would have bit the bullet, done my time in school, and see where it places me. If I was well into my schooling, I would have stayed the teacher route but I'm 23 and just started school this past semester for it (I did some soul searching a few months ago and decided to go back to school after over three years of working retail). It would be atleast another few years before I got a job somewhere.

Ah cool. Usually the only time people know about
Suffern is from the Sex in the City episodes with
Aidan's country house from Suffern. And they make
our Village look like it's in the middle of the
woods/country/nowhere.It's not true! We don't live
miles from each other ;)
And only 20 minutes from NYC :D |

You know in Pulp Fiction how the cleaner dude says:
"That's 30 minutes away, I''ll be there in 15"
That's how I feel lol. Yeah more like 30 min. but still
