we got there late due to carpooling delays so we only caught the last 4-5 tracks of magda, which is a shame b/c she was laying it down.

hawtin comes on and lays down the MNML madness, he was killing it for pretty much his whole set, he kinda lost me with the last 30 minutes or so tho.

we knew a few tracks he played only 1 by name, which was audion - noiser.

he dropped a couple of tracks from the beatport pool party set, if you have that one.

he also dropped a track that beyer was hammering last year, the name escapes me atm.

all in all great night, as i said he backed off a bit in the last 30 min which i didn't understand, but the music leading up to that was so good that it's not that big of a deal.

how was DEMF?

lets just say that demf destroyed me this year - checked out a lot of different acts - hardfloor - some ghetto tech (man, some of those women can really shake their booty!) - a guy called gerald - butane - audion - ryan elliot - jeff mills was laying it down hard to end the festival, he had some trainwrecks at the beginning, but he seemed to settle down and it was great to hear the crackle of the vinyl on the huge sound system - booka shade blew me away - as did steve bug who was the highlight for me, layed down some nasty techno goodness - mathew dear - higher intellegence - my only complaint was that the minimal artists were good, not great, nothing too inspiring or innovative from them this year which was disappointing - didn't get to richie's set b/c booka shade was so good and the beatport tent was packed to the gills, but i did see his mom :p

nice! sounds like you had a blast. we got booka/gui/mayer on friday then ritchie/magda on saturday - so we had our own mini demf goin on out here :p

i *really* want to see steve bug, he was scheduled to come out here in march but a scheduling conflict nixed that one.

so how was audion live?

steve bug is really one of my favs - he mixes so many different genres into his set and he's crazy behind the decks

audion live was good - nothing too exciting IMO - he and ryan elliot were playing together so it wasn't exactly a live pa the entire time - sort of weird

So check out this excerpt from this Eric Prydz interview I stumbled accross:

What plans do you have for the summer?

-I’ll do my first US and Canada-tour. I’ll play almost every day throughout October and November. I’ll travel around in a big tour bus, I saw pictures of it yesterday, it’s insane with Jacuzzi and a videogame room, music studio and stuff. It’ll be a blast. Before I’ve always avoided travelling to USA because I hate flying, but now the demand is so big that I can’t say no anymore. I’m gonna fly in friends all the time, especially to Las Vegas and LA, so It’ll probably be lots of fun.

I know that you’ve said that you really don’t like flying. How will you get there?

-To fly over the Atlantic is a lot different from flying in Europe, the airplanes are much bigger and in business class you get your own department, so it’ll probably go fine. Otherwise I’ll have to take the boat but that isn’t so attractive since I’d be at sea for six days.

Weekend trip to LA or Vegas this fall maybe? :D

funny as thats the best venue in co. besides WOW at the boulder theater when no one showed, that was an awesome show. (ing amazing)

vinyl is horrible but they own both places so whatever. i went to see WOW at vinyl and they were relegated to the last 20 mins of the entire night. i tried to get my money back, but the ticket taker claimed they were performing when they were not, and managers are hard to find at vinyl.

i love hanging out with chad and folks, and as many issues you could have with the church, it has always had better sound and vibe that vinyl.

vinyl is a poorly run business|
