Hahaha!! We left early too. I wasn't planing on going since we left early as well the last time he was at Beta. Had to be there since I opened up for Dragon.

Dave Dresden!! That guy is way too boring... Last time he was here he played on CD's and trainwrecked all night. Oakie version 2

You know when the two were together (him and Josh) it was Josh who produced. Dave was more or less the marketer - he did the interviews and what not. But it is really Josh who is the master of almost all of their tracks.

Cant say how I know but it is FACT!

He was pretty boring as well but imo better than Dresden.

Oh I know. Both bore the hell out of me. Never understood why people enjoyed either so much. But Dave does nothing and is a bill for EDC? Weak.

I just hope other djs arent from the same agency that always gets used in Denver - i.e. DJ Micro and others in that agency. Enough is enough.

Gabriel & Dresden were one of my favorites when I first got into EDM - they still have some great sets from the 2005/2006 era. But when they broke it off......I'd never see Dave on his own, seen Gabriel back in 2005 when Dave was banned from Canada and Josh was the only one representing. It was alright but it wasn't true G&D.

Meh, to each their own - I've never understood Infected Mushroom craze but have to admit they were great fun at Bal en Blanc 2006. ;)

EDM has such a wide variety to chose from - and the music in the genres changes so fast due to how quickly music spreads in the scene. Some trends are hideous to others and absolutely sublime to others. I was a huge trance hater for a long time but now, in my dotage, I'm starting to like it again - Ferry Corsten impressed the hell out of me in DC last weekend at Glow.

I am getting sick of the Triad lineups to be honest - some variety would be great. The fact that Steve Porter is playing at one of their parties this spring made me jump in surprise! That man is a fantastic house DJ and he got on one of their bills???

Yeah I was there for business too. Didn't realize that was you opening before Dragon though... I did actually enjoy your set. :)

Add Adultnapper to the 3/12 Beta date w/Coxy also... looking like that's going to be a hell of a night.

Haha, thanks man! I'll be opening tonight again... Dragon then Matt Darey. I can't wait for Carl Cox!! Been waiting for him to come into town for years now.

Micro will always come no matter who likes him or not. He's mainly the main reason why Denver has a scene and got it started. I actually prefer listening to him than George Acosta... lol!

Problem with Denver is that no one knows the "new" talent that we all know. Only like a 10-20 percent of people know who Mike Foyle, Mike Shiver, etc. is... For example, there were more people at Beta for Icey than Robbie Rivera :( And Rivera is HUGE and personally one of my favorites.

Agreed, but I mean take Caffeine for example - not to bash - just imo. No change EVER really. Few things here and there, but same old. Most of the triad events are like that. They are scared of the scene. They go with bringing the same people who are cheap over and over again and eventually people start thinking that maybe these artists are superstars or something. They almost start believing that they like them, and triad rakes in so much money that way. Cheap djs over and over, crowd recognition - MULLA! The formula works. That is why I give props to Dykstra more so than many in this scene. Sure he messed up big time, but he brought to the scene the risk it needed - making it a real scene - not a cycle.

Not to self promote, but what I have been trying to do was go with the Dykstra model- have BALLS. Bring in a name that people recognize (cycled djs) and then introduce one or two djs to the mainstream who are huge in the non denver scene. The event is safe - not as many heads as if there were two cycled artists, but safe for making profit. Gain respect from the scene in more ways then sold out show.

*Just how I see it. Frankly, I am so bored with the triad artists, no matter who the headliner is now, the others are the same. Change the venue or production, still feels like a repeat show.

omega1n
EDC Denver... Dresden has now been dropped from the line up. As of now the three main headliners are: Paul van Dyke, Infected Mushroom, and James Zabiela. Zabiela FTW!!!!
kabelicious
JZ for EDC? Damn, now that sounds more like a lineup!
