on a different note, I have a connection to get psytrance out in Denver but Ryan doesnt reply and dont know how to get a hold of Beta management. Not sure if anyone is interested in the likes of Astrix or Astral or CL, etc. but if so, I would love to let the guy that can bring them for less know right away so we can finally get psy in the scene here that isnt always here.

Not for Denver at least... it's a catch 22 - nice to see someone bringing some fresh techno DJs out here, but it's getting hard to get excited about seeing headliners at the Church & Vinyl anymore.

And techno is made for soundsystems like Beta's. Not Vinyl's or the Church's that has it shorts and starts and lack of depth. Techno doesn't have the soaring vocals that mask the shortcomings of that system while the Funktion system brings out the smaller nuances of techno. At least Hawtin is at Beta.

On another note, they had Vinyl rented out for a shindig last night and all I can say is this: I don't care who you have to know to get into a party like that but if you think blasting "Jump Around" by House of Pain or "Humpty Dance" is a good idea.......lol, at least they had jazz and downtempo versions of "As the Rush Comes" at Bar Standard.

I bet you can play country music at Beta at it'll make it sound good!

Regardless of superior sound, my ears would still bleed out, my heart would stop, and the chorus would torment me for years to come.

haha come on now.

Dont break my heart - my achey breaky heart hahaha.

I was at Beta for the first time finally last week and must say i am very impressed with what they did to the place. Only question I have with Beta as well as the church now is with the lasers relfecting off the ball. Is that legal in the states? Becuase I thought lasers cant be at eye level and with the ball changing the angles of the lasers downward, isnt that an issue the city might have?

My friend is trying to get info on if/where DJ Wolfgang Gartner is playing in Denver on the September 12th. According to his myspace, it says he's playing Roots @ Adobe. What the crap is that? lol.
