Here's my review:
I got there at 11:45 much to my dismay like half an hour later when I found at the merchandise stall that Sasha wasn't going to be there. None of the bouncers or security told me anything but I was alright cuz I figured Digweed could hold down the party without Sasha and might do something special.
I thought Kazell was alright and worked well as an opener. He definately set the mood...but that mood pretty much just continued when Digweed came on. I felt Digweed just played way too slow. Someone on this thread mentioned that sound was out of whack and I would have to agree. There was too much bass and I could barely hear the mids as well which maybe contributed to sometimes how bored I'd be feeling. Like for instance...when around 2:20 when Digweed played Radio Slave- Grind House (Dubfire remix), everyone got really excited and I was ready to hear the crazy sound effects in that song, but I just couldn't cuz the bass drowned them out! It was either that or Digweed just mixed out early before those sound effects really took hold.
Like either way, there were some parts of the set which I definately liked but for a big room like the Kool Haus I wanted some bigger tracks and a progression to harder songs.
I also noticed that Sasha clone too! He was by where they were selling the merchandise and I thought it was him until he started talking and it sounded nothing like him.
All in all, it was an okay night. I have seen Digweed play better and there's some bootleg sets that were much better.

Sick sick sick party IMO.
Had the absolute time of my life.
Prolly my 1st or 2nd best time I've EVER had in the Kool Haus. I thought the crowd, music, everything was perfect.
Have absolutley no complaints from the night (other than I guess Sasha not being there... but once I heard Diggers get going, I couldnt have cared less), and nothing but extremely positive memories and reflections.

The fact that Guv wasnt accessible (nor any other rooms you go flow to) I think made the crowd so agreeable to me. Besides not crazy rammed like I feared it might, the lack of having other rooms open to the KH meant that there wasnt as much random "wandering" by ppl looking to alwasy move from one side of the room to the other. So nice for a change to not always being continually pushed and shoved and squeezed in upon.

AGREED Pett!! The volume was so perfect, I didnt even bother to put my earplugs in till 4am I swear. That's Unprecedented for me. Usually they are in my ears at whatever club im at within 1 hour, an hour and a half TOPS!

Walking into Kool Haus you could taste the excitement and adrenaline in the air. Despite Sasha not being able to make it many people were simply in the mood to have a good night - from friends I haven't seen in ages to the overall politeness of the crowd. I thoroughly enjoyed Kazell's set, nicely building tracks that notched up the anticipation level.
I wasn't disappointed to have an extended Digweed set, he's my fave dj of the 2. And the free drink tickets were much appreciated. Have to say that I felt a bit underwhelmed overall by Digweed's set - lovely beginning and a solid ending but there was this 45min stretch that simply didn't go anywhere. It was rather shocking especially cause I'm a huge fan of loooong builds and so-called boring prog. But I guess it's the outcome of holding Digweed to such high standards.
The undisputed highlight of the night though had to be the social aspect. Groups of friends all over, people I haven't seen in ages, out of towners and also hearing stories from the WMC peeps. I spent the beginning of the night chatting away and could have easily continued doing so for the entire time. However I did want to hear the music properly and so moved up frontish/center where the sound levels, crowd enthusiasm and overwhelming light display delivered on that big room/epic night out vibe.
Hopefully they will be a make up date for S&D, I'd hate to wait another 6 years to see them locally.

did digweed play gridlock? i'd die to hear the full 25 min version in a club... the release towards the end is something that can't be done in a track any shorter than it is. and without sasha that track would be a perfect excuse for going to drop a log lol
