9 times out of 10, it's your perception and where you are standing. Move ten feet and listen critically, there should be a noticeable difference. Not to mention that alcohol, drugs and the hundreds of voices in the room alter your perception, making accurate judgements difficult. Add to that the fact the room was tuned while empty, and the hundreds of fluid-filled sacks called people absorb a remarkable amount of the energy. When coupled with acclimatization to the SPL level at the start of the night, the overall level needs to be increased over the course of the program, which changes the way the sound interacts with itself and the characteristics of the gear being used.

1. We moved many times to all different places in the room and did not see enough of an improvement.
2. Tuning the system to when its full and then not re-tuning during the show with people in it and the equipment running hot is neglect, not the way you should be running things.
I think we are making a like-like comparison to Pepsi and KH...anyway, whatever...KH sound sucks, you guys don't think so, so that means all of my friends and I are crazy audio freaks and should stay away from KH and everyone else is fine with the sound and that is why The Guv complex keeps surviving... End of story. |

PS. in all seriousness tho..i think people who feel that things should change should maybe stop complaining and maybe send in comments or suggestions to clubs...never hurts...things do happen when you do.. |

| One good thing about the sound that it wasn't turned up insanely loud as it does in the Guv Main room. I think it usually is pretty good in the Kool Haus, I have been there for both DJ events and concerts. But Friday nite I have to admit just had too much bass at times. |

Got there around 10ish to hear the bad news but hell make the best of it, and did we ever!
So many good people there, so many I haven't seen in so long. I couldnt go 5 steps without running into someone.
Music was great, yah it had its slow moments but for teh most part Diggers was bangin them out and everyone in the place was rockin their socks off.
5am was way too early, I dont remember the last time a party ended at that complex before sun rise?
Nice meeting a lot of new people as well and lol at the front of stage experience with one of the local Dj's.
Hope they come back for the people who have been waiting to see them together. |

One of the reasons I had such a fantastic time. Sound volumes were very reasonable, IMO. |

btw the worst when it comes to sound is having screaming out of control mids n highs that rip your ear drums or crappy bass that totally overlaps every other sound. KH had none of that which is good enough. If you come to an event just for crystal clear sound, go buy some genelecs or mackies or something and stay at home.

It was a good night overall.
Digweed (7/10) ---> He played some good tunes here and there. But a lot of times he sounded monotone. There is a track he played at around 1:45 am with high pitch melodies that made everyone dance like crazy. I'll try to find a youtube vid of it. But that was amazing prog!
crowd (8/10) ---> The crowd was better than other nights at the Guv. Expect for that muscular tranny girl, that was just weird, lol.
overall (7/10) ---> Overall it was good, but 5 AM is a lot earlier than usual, which sucks because I still had energy to keep on dancing. But I like how it was on A Friday night, so you have 2 days to recover.
next up.......PVD and EDDIE HALLIWELL!!!!!!! :crazy: |
