Exactly. Self-moderating forums are so much more interesting. They have their own communities, their own little culture, and when you make posts you get called out on it. I'd much rather have a bunch of so called "trolls" who make bitter and insulting comments than have everyone be all PLUR and boring as .
Most of that belongs in other forums like the COR or something. But fine, let's keep it the way it is and have unicorn pictures on every page

bashing on people who deserve to be bashed on is one thing. but to constantly pick upon the musical preference of the newer users that come here looking to expand their knowledge of "trance" just plain annoys me.
it's completely fine when someone is blatantly lazy or being a tard. but from what i've seen most of the time it's someone who just doesn't know better and/or someone making an honest statement. one in a while you get the 'OMFG SANDSTORM' post but it's not a frequent occurrence here.

Some thread this is. Elitists, critiques, old-schoolers, different educations, different styles & the slight appearance of Blake Jarrell.
I'm relatively new to this site ^^ and before that my horizons were just as wide as horses with a cap on going from a point to another with the same kind of music, I always had something to say about this and that even before joining the forums.
Joining this site has helped me, not only through the history and evolution of trance, but also made me discover new genres and learn how to appreciate them, yet again though the help of users, as well as giving me some insight on how the club-scene is across the oceans. Furthermore I also had the pleasure of speaking / debatating against certain experienced users which helped giving me by giving me new perspective on things I already knew.
Although this site is probably filled with elitists we have to asks ourselves if this is really a bad thing considering how 99,9% of all the other EDM forums are like. I understand the frustration when someone comes asking about Armin's newest single and definetly can understand why so many feel like an unwelcomed guest has stepped into the holy home of electronic music when such a post is made.
Nevertheless none of the above is an excuse to acting like big-bad uncle trancesux everytime a new user appears.
