I rocked out to Much music then imeem MJ streams until midnight last night. Dancing to thriller, copying the moves - I felt like there were a million of me around the world doing the same thing.
A musical genius and a troubled soul. May he be in a better place and I hope his children see him through his music and not his news stories.

I was driving home from work when I heard this...I started crying...two guys in traffic were giving me the "thumb" respect i guess they had just heard it on the news as well.
I like many others on this forum grew up listening to MJ....I travelled to some Northern remote parts of Pakistan when I was 10-11 during my summer vacations where kids didn't even have schools but they were playing MJ tunes on their boombox and just hanging out. That says a lot about his music and the impact he had on the WORLD!
I am definitely impacted by his death, he IS A LEGEND, and always will be. No one can ever replace MJ! Sure, he had some shady ass times in his life but like someone said on here if you haven't ed up in life you haven't lived.

There is no better example of the dangers of robbing someone of their childhood than the story of Michael Jackson.
Time and time again we see this story play out where childhood stars end up having serious psychological issues and breakdowns.
Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears…Michael Jackson.
Michael was not guilty of pedophilia, and I would argue we as fans are a lot more responsible for the problems that he had than he was.
The crazy part is that it was the fact that he did nothing but dance and sing from the time he was 5 that made him so great, but also made him fall so hard. It was being thrust into the spotlight when he should have been in kindergarden that caused him to have the enormous influence on all of our lives that he did. We all gained from him losing.
I was incredibly shocked and saddened when I heard the news today. I cannot think of another performer who even comes close to Michael Jackson.
His Live in Bucharest performance goes down as the most incredible show I’ve ever seen.
A sad day to say the least.

I never once said anything about him not having an influence on music, or his music wasn't good, his music was good and he did have an influence for sure. Like I said, his songs were sik, no doubt about it, I still sing to them when I hear them, but I didn't know him personally and I'm not going to be sad about it.

I totally agree... he is a musical legend and genius, 100%. Not being sarcastic at all.
It's sad to see that so many musical geniuses have been overcome by their excentricities that coincide with the musical brain.
On a side note... I always believed this song has one of the best baselines ever.
