| I understand how you think that there are bigger things to worry about but to people on this side of the pond, especially to people who were inspired by him ( dancers, singers, yes and DJ's.) and some of those people aren't directly affected by the fights in Iran. So yes this will be bigger news for us. Yes, it's awful but that's also reality |

but mj was relevant to millions and his death is big news
each news story has it's time and place...this story is happening right now, that's why it's taking over all the networks
i don't think anyone is saying it's more important than other issues in the news...it's a time line issue, not one of relevance |

You answer your own question. This facebook/twitter response shows the impact Michael Jackson made on people's lives.
He was a tremendous influence not only to the music industry, but the entertainment industry. When you lose out on someone that made an impact, no matter how big or small, it's a big deal. The facebook/twitter things is proof. |

Oops sorry, I just looked at the headline. I was told by someone that CNN and BBC confirmed it on TV though, and BBC has it confirmed on their website. I would consider BBC just as credible as CNN. |
