I was amazed at how Lisa was able to take off her undies without taking off her pants!! Not only that, her song request was written on them! |

I took them off in the bathroom and put them in my pocket. I didn't write a song request on them though...he always plays Beautiful on his own after he sees me. It only makes sense, since it wrote it for me ;) |

These guys were awesome too, they randomly showed up during Cam's set, hit the middle of the floor and jammed it up. Love the brief cases and outfits, hahaha

I was in the bathroom of the Skybar as this guy was explaining to people how awesome his alligator skin shoes were. He had his pant legs rolled up, with long white socks on and bright red shoes.
"These are real baby alligator skin man, it was only five months old...you can't get that anywhere"
I was killing myself laughing.
2nd funny moment of the night was when someone asked me what my name was and I instantly answered Justin...only to realize a minute later that my name was actually not Justin. The guy gave me quite the weird look when I had to explain to him 30 seconds later that my name was Josh.
Lawler at Zone was as good as I always hoped it would be. |

such an amazing night!!! Im pretty much gonna say what others said so to keep it short and sweet:
1. Hawtin rocked. Was totally surprised. Nuff said.
2. didnt see much of CG, because of hawtin, but from what I saw, I liked
3. Ferry Corsten owned. Loved the new album, the old classics, and the hard beats in between....He realizes we are in a CLUB, not sitting on our asses at home, and really kept the beat driving (especially the 2nd and 3rd hours!! omg!!) I am surprised people didnt know Betsie was singing Live, I wrote it in the thread! :) Everyone knows I love Ferry, so no surprise that I loved it.....glad my techno whores stayed and loved it as well!! Moment of the night was Binary Finary and Gabriella's Sky, which he named after his gorgeous "hollapino" daughter....felt tears welling for that one!!
4. Sound sucked in KH BIG TIME!!!
5. Lawler: Liked it, but the sound SUCKED..... and all these tunes I liked and recognized I could barely hear (especially the random vocals....they just dissapeared!) That brought down the vibe a little for me, because the music is the most important thing!! :(
6. Best thing were seeing my old friends and making new....you guys made the party, and thanks again to the many many many people always extending themselves to make sure I feel at home and am having fun!!! Best group of people ever!! <3 <3 <3
7. Free entrance FTW!!!!!
Love you toronto peeps, thanks for an amazing week at Pride and Canada day!! <3 <3 :D :D :D :D Toronto is def one of the best places to be, you guys are lucky to have such a great city, amazing people, and a great club/scene..... |

A week late, so short and sweet:
- Hawtin rocked the main room
- Ferry is the best trance dj/producer alive, always on point
- Lovin Menno right now, and despite a very strangely placed remix of La Roux early on, I enjoyed his set a great deal. I can't get enough of that style of trance
- Skybar rammed, nice atmosphere, Lawler delivered
- A great all access event at guv. imo the people and vibe of Toronto are unmatched throughout North America, and memories of this night should be enough to hold me over until Electric Zoo
:toocool:
Edit: Almost forgot about what I went through to actually make it to this party. Connected in NYC on Tuesday and flight was supposed to leave at 1:00 or so. Made it out to the runway, was like 3rd in line for takeoff when everything got shut down. Sat on runway for hour and a half before they took us back to terminal. Around 4pm they said we would depart at 4:30. Five minutes later, flight cancelled. They werent doing anything for anybody except booking for following morning. I begged to get on standby for next flight, and they grudgingly did so. That flight was cancelled, as well as the next few I tried. Last chance to make it to guv was standby for a 7:30 flight. At that point nothing was taking off or landing at the airport. That flight got delayed and all signs pointed to it eventually being cancelled. I started making arrangements to just stay with friends in NYC and blow off Toronto all together. The new flight time of 8:45 rolled around and they actually started boarding. I still had little hope, though, as I was last(6th) on the standby list. Boarding finished for booked passengers. The lady started calling a few missing passengers, some showed... She checked computer, counted tickets, checked plane, then started in on the standby list and boarded a few ahead of me. It eventually got down to one person ahead of me. She rechecked the computer, plane, and tix. I was the only one left at the desk. She called the person ahead of me, who didn't show...... then finally me. I filled the very final seat on the plane. Still wasn't in the clear, though, as we got delayed once again on the runway and I was sure I was staying in NYC. Finally, however, we took off, cruised around the tstorms, and landed in Toronto. Arrived at guv and made it in just before guest list closed.....
The rest is history. :D |
