If I didn't catch any sporting event (stops in Pittsburgh, Canton (FB HoF), Cleveland, Buffalo, or Hamilton, I would have to say that watching Ferry's three hour set was worth it all. Over 1,400 miles round trip for me in a week.

I think that Ferry's set was tops in my opinion followed by Menno de Jong who rocked it despite having a tough act to follow. Cosmic Gate didn't blow me away after they started at 11pm after Mark finished his opening set.

It was my first time seeing Ferry live and I've had the chance to see a lot of terrific acts in Charlotte. This performance ranks, along with the surprise live vocals from Betsie, just blew me away.

nice vids jmassey, are u the one screaming made of love lol!!

No it was definatly FC. I've seen him enough times to know. I just thought there were to many vocals. I'm not saying he was bad by any stretch he was on his game for sure. I guess I was just so impressed with the incredibly hard tunes from Richie that I was thinking Ferry was a bit soft. He too needed a longer set time, espcially since they closed the KH an hour early.

So for the sketch stories. Now as I'm sure most of you know I'm always sober in every aspect, but even I have my sketch moments.
When we were in the Guv there was a girl dancing directly in front of me who I thought was Tara. So I gave her a big hug from behind. She turns around and sure enough it wasnt her. I know for a fact that Veronica saw me do this and just about pissed herself laughing. The random girl was cool about it but shocked none the less. I felt like such a douche. Then 5 minutes later she turns around and hugs me and kisses my cheek. Now I'm shocked. So I just keep dancing and jumping around. Now for those of you who dont know, I've lost quite a bit of weight since last Fall. Close to 50 pounds. I had a MAJOR wardrobe malfunction right deadsmack in the middle of the dancefloor. I'm jumping to Richie Hawtin and BANG!!!!! Pants are at my ankles. Holy I never yanked my pants up so quick in my life. Thank God it is dark in there. I dont know if anyone saw, maybe lurker Justin cause he was laughing his ass off. So for the rest of night I had to keep my hand in my pockets if I wanted to jump around to keep that from happeneing again. Worst part is, these were pants I bought 2 months ago but are already too big!!

:haha:

Yes klobo. That is me. I must confess. I'm the idiot you hear in the background trying to sing along. Gosh I sound awful and I think I gave myself away because I definitely don't sound Can-EH!-dian.

So I apologize to everyone who has had to suffer through that and I'm sorry I ruined what would have been a better video.

If you are scarred for life, I'd offer to cover your mental health bills. But you folks up in Canada have free health insurance so it looks like you're already covered there. :)

Please forgive me and I hope that you can find it deep within your heart of hearts to let me into your country again.

Anybody got a video of Ferry's opening?

I heard it was super cheesy, and a good laugh would be nice right about now.

eh you can't compare Richie and FC - 2 different genres
I just disagree about vocal tracks - CG had more vocals then Ferry :)

This was my third Guv Canada Day Party in a row.... I will be back.
Arrived and was pleased with how the guestlist line moved.... and the security people were super nice, which put a smile on my face right away.
Walked into the KH (first time in that room) and was like, "get me the heck out of this trancey madness". Proceeded to the Guv, where Ritchie was killing it. I enjoyed his set immensely and felt the lad got screwed on the timeslot, but I made the most of it.
Dbufire and Lawler dropped some BOMBS of bass in there.... very nice work. I did take a break to see Ferry, hoping to run into his wife, but she was nowhere and I left before I got sucked into 2003.
On the way to Ferry, Jon Jon did a great job in the Orange room..... I felt like introducing myself, but didn't want to interrupt. Thanks again for GL me and Seth. AND Congrats on getting your tracked played on Digweed's show. We listened to that set in the car on the drive up.
Highlight of my evening-morning was running into Andre, who I met at DEMF, and then chatting with him while The Junkies BORED me to death. Geesh guys, play the same darn rhythm for an hour and see how far that gets you in the DJ world. I wanted to hijack your dexks and open up for Lawler properly. I think three people died of boredom while those two were on.
Anyways, Andre is a super nice dude and I was happy that he was uninspired to take photos so he could chat with us. THEN... up walks a dude who says "Hey Indy!" I look up and there is this guy who I danced next to last year during the Dub-Lawler tag on Skybar. Jeff was his name and he is cool as . He remembered me because he has my photo on his facebook page and has put the business card that I gave him to good use ;)
Lawler finally came on and gave us some diversity.... after about 45 minutes I had room to dance and all was right with the world on that fantastic deck of a space you call the Skybar.
I drive 8.5 hours each way to be a part of this.... it is worth every second. I hope one day to be djing at the event or an afterhours.... :)
Thanks Canada, the Guv, JonJon, Andre, Jeff, and all the random people who made me smile yesterday. Anytime any of you come to Indianapolis please hit me up.
Canada Day kicks our Independence Day's butt.

Definately going to say that Hawtin had the BEST set of the night hands down. Honestly, the way he played during that ty 12-2am slot was phenomenal. Banging, hard techno with some insane build ups and drops. At some points I just looked around at people in disbelief!

He wanted to make Toronto jealous because he knew we woulnd't see him around for a while - and he definately did. The lighting work during his set was absolutely amazing, the tech guy definately knows how to work that room....:eyes:

Ferry was awesome. I walked into KH when made of love PA was being played and it reminded me of Sarah and how she loves that song (definately missed her by my side at guv! :(). I've seen Ferry quite a few times as well but I gotta say this was one of my favorite times since he played some darker/harder trance and it almost reminded me of Schulz a few times.

Caught a bit of Dubfire in the main room but he didn't really do it for me...some grooving fat basslines but after Hawtin's banging set (and having to tone it down big time for Dubfire at the end too lol) no one could really get into it.

Lawler was a lot better than last year, but I think that's just because of where he's been headed musically in the past year. More drums and percussion, obviously I'm gonna love that  :haha:

Great seeing everyone again, had to leave early so I could get some rest for C&C madness the next day (:eyes: :eyes: anyone who missed the C&C cruise and docks MISSED OUT hardcore!!!!!! ing DESTROYED the docks. :toothless :wtf:

Glad someone else noticed how monotonous that set was. Same ing beat for at least an hour.
They drove me out of Skybar
