Hi Jay! What'd you do this time :p
I don't think they're cheap s... I made good money working in the service industry in Orlando. It was tourists that were cheap. I hate ty service. The waiters that figured out we tip well jump on our table the minute we walk in. :gsmile: |

every time i paid my tab in orlando, i would generally get an "are you sure this is ok?" from the staff. I wasn't even tipping that much. I got told that people have tight pockets there.
the only time i would blatently over tip was when i was hammered, because all us money is the same colour and it would mess me up:p |

| Then you were eating at crap restaurants lol - the restaurants I was serving at were better than the regular Friday's ... so people tipped nicely. If two people were eating, their bills were rarely under 60$ |

lol @ 60$ bill. |
I mean 60$ without drinks, jackass :p
Considering everything else in Orlando you can eat for two people for like $22 - $60 is good. Although the last restaurant we went to for his birthday (Roy's Hawaiian Restaurant or some ) was delicious - the bill ended up being $168 for an app, two dinners, a dessert, and two drinks each. |

yeah i guess.
it is cheap to eat in orlando, but like i said the eats are not that good. I wish i could eat a decent meal here for 2 people without drinks and 60$ (not talking pub food here of course).
you can barely get a bottle of wine for 60$ that is not low grade balsamic vinegar:p |

I don't know if you've been to, or spent much time in the US but tipping is a pretty big thing. Leaving 10% in the UK is perfectly acceptable but in the US 15% is more the norm, or $1 a drink at a bar if you're just having cheapie drinks.
My wife is American (I'm a Brit living here) and when she first came to visit me in the UK we went out to lunch. The service was pretty ordinary and she asked whether she should leave a 20% tip. I told her that was ridiculous and she settled up. Turns out she thought 20% was lowballing and so went with 30%! :haha:
As for the pay, well nobody shoots for $2.13 an hour! My wife was from a pretty upscale area and did a spot of waitressing between semesters at University. At a nice but not Michelin star type restaurant in her town she'd easily earn $250-$300 for a Friday or Saturday night. Maybe $150-$200 for a midweek night. The money isn't that bad if you are good, don't mind the BS and considering that it requires absolutely zero qualifications! |
