Oh, what was the place in Captiva where you got jobbed... Bubble Room?

The Over-Easy Cafe... it's a breakfast place.

and mmmingmmmm at the Mucky Duck food :tongue2

i am not saying they were absolute tripe by any means, but i think we have different perspectives when it comes to gourmet/fine dining.

we grow up with it here, in orlando it is not something ingrained into the population. I am also from a snooty french place though:p

orlando is a small city with more rednecks than non rednecks (and the most non rednecks are in school and can't afford nice restaurants), it is normal that it is not up to par with say nyc. demographic demographic demographic.

Hey ass - the sushi restaurant called Sakura is a hole in the wall in Winter Park and is ing BOMB. Once you eat there, you can never eat at any other sushi restaurant ever again. I've converted everyone.

no thanks, i'll take montreal food over jeff foxworthy sushi:p

our roommate's sister is visiting now from montreal and she made us dinner the other night. she made minced meat with gravy over mashed potatoes with steamed carrots and peas. patrick was in heaven like, "OMG OMG NOMNOMNOM...jamie, THIS is good food...typical canadian dish" i was like :wtf: i mean it was good but , i make some great dishes for him and all he wants is minced meat with gravy:stongue:

yeah, but you are dating a common quebecois from a lower class family if that is the case. He does do manual labour:p

quebec white trash is hilarious. You can usually spot them at flea markets buying fake affliction shirts and hitting on women 40 years older than them:p

the ones from money don't eat that unless its meat pie at christmas that ma tante pasdedents from gaspe made.
Slylee
lol

well i met his parents and they aren't the trashy type. in fact, his mom is a pretty damn good gormet cook and loves nice wines, etc.. and was a stay at home mom always cooking for him. i'm surprised he doesn't have a more sophisticated pallet after he told me about the stuff she made for him as a kid (rack of lamb with mint jelly, japanese food, etc... not your typical white trash food). and his grandfather is a stingy millionaire. hopefully he'll leave some for patrick seeing that it's his only grandson lol

but yea, he does come from a smaller town (Laval) and has the pallet of a 12 year old :stongue:
malek
Laval is not a small town:mad:
Slylee
oh i thought it was. he talks about it like there's nothing really exciting going on in laval. just a suburb city type of thing.

I ate in a little hole in the wall authentic greek diner in downtown Detroit in the Greektown area and it was the most amazing lamb gyros I've had in my life. Opa ! the ing cheese they lit up with a quick burst of fire and let it sizzle on the steel tray was amazing. Greeks know how to throw down.
malek
it's a burb, but a big one. We have moomba :p

Slylee
yea i'm a huge greek food fan.
elzidane
i think laval is the second biggest city in quebec.

i was just poking fun slylee, most people hare have awesome taste in food and i can tell you that i don't know too many people that eat mince meat, potatoes and gravy on a regular here. Are you sure he isn't irish?:p

when you guys come down one day, you will see that the restaurants here are pwn...albeit not at florida prices. You can even jet ski the st lawrence!
