Actually EDC wasn't ty at all. the topic doesn't say "Let's Discuss how ty EDC is/was". What we can do is get back to the topic of reviews!

EDC was a ton of fun, but sadly i arrived late both days. and missed seeing all those retarded kids getting trampled. i would have been laughing my ass off in the VIP had we not taken a detour to chinatown to pick up some friends, which ended up putting us at EDC around 8pm. got to hear zabiela while we were standing in line to get in, then ran immediately to see gareth who did not disappoint. caught about half an hour of sasha's set then headed down to the coliseum floor for above/armin. unfortunately had to suffer thru the last 10-15 mins of benasty and lil john's audio vomit. stayed down on the coliseum floor the rest of the night, which ended all too soon. really, reaaaaaally wish it had've gone on till the usual 4am, that was disappointing. but after all the EDC caught cause of the stampedes and the little girl dying, i wonder if this was the last one at the coliseum. which, i think sucks, because i LOOOOOVE that venue. but if i can say one thing... see what happens when you cater to the lowest common denominator? i know its all about making the most money possible out of the event... but when all these ghetto people come out of the wood works because now being a "raver" is the cool thing to do, like this happens and it stands a good chance of ruining it for the rest of us, who truly love dance music and these events.

i really didnt expect it to be so crowded..esp friday, which seemed to be more crowded than last year's saturday. its like annoyingly crowded, i like to have some room. are there any bigger/better venues than the coliseum? i love it but edc has outgrown that place. it was fun, but i woulda have had an even better time if i was able to get on the floor w/ my other friends.

and to add one more thing, this was my 5th EDC in a row, coming all the way from el paso, texas. every year it has gotten bigger and better and i've always been happy about that. but if next year edc is going to continue to go more mainstream, and have more horrid electro/hip-hop/rap influence, i will strongly consider going somewhere else next year. maybe you could have at least one stage on either one of the days that has techhouse/minimal??? even if its the smallest stage at EDC, i would be beyond excited

Yeap. The Empire Polo Fields. They had over 225,000 at this years Coachella.

i guess one over all advantage to ty music being played in the coloseum is that all the "better" artist playing at other stages. I would have been pissed to not be able to see Sasha IF he played in the coloseum.

Like someone mentioned, everyone wants to be in the coloseum regardless of the music. Keep all the crap (djs and crowd) in one place.

I think that because of all the bad press EDC is getting, some venues might not want to work with Insomniac because of the liability of minors.

i heard awhile back that the coliseum and surrounding area was up for sale, what ever happened with that? why doesn't insomniac just buy the damned place? i'm sure they can afford it

Yup. Plenty of room at Sasha. Actually, was surprised to by how empty it was.

thats a good point, there are probably a lot of red flags right now for anyone insomniac might try to work with on another venue. i'll keep my fingers crossed that they might actually have to make these events 18+. i think that would pretty much solve all the problems of over crowding and stampeding the gates. i'm sure ticket prices would be likely to go way up though if they cut out all the money the kids would bring in. i'd be willing to pay more if it meant no little kids, less over crowding and hopefully less electro.
