You are very wrong there.
Contrary to what many people believe, he DOES care about his fans. If he didn't, he wouldn't be online almost 24hrs a day.
He has had online studio sessions where you can see him producing on stickam for sometimes 16hrs straight. You see him in the studio messing with beats filters etc etc. Not only that, he is ANSWERING the questions randomly of people in his channel. I don't know many other DJ's of his caliber that do something like this. If he didn't care why would he go out of his way?
He has even tried to broadcast a live HD DJ broadcast, but he said it was a technological nightmare so he opted not to. The guy is on twitter, facebook, random facebook chats all the time. If he didnt care about his fans, he wouldn't spend so much time stretching him self out thin all over the Internets stressing out over random stuff...

could just be cause he's a computer nerd?

Unless you guys know him you can't judge him, I'm not a big fan, but he can do some cool beats.
I've hung with a few artists and all i can ever do is keep in mind that everyone has good and bad days, everyone does things they shouldn't.
I hope/wish that he puts the same energy into EDC as he did for Coachella but i wouldn't count on it...

PS, notice he actually commented on this

i talked to him before his first sf gig at mighty. asked me to make him a tee and got me on the guest list as well. he was nice then. second time around at ruby, not so much... pop last year was garbage overall. his best set was likely him playing before richie hawtin at vmf 2008 where he didnt go too electro and played more minimal and setup hawtin the best he could. i was really surprised myself.
anyway sick setup at coachella to bad there wasnt any music i liked to go with it from the clips ive seen and what my friends who attended told me :o

It's because he has an amazing PR team and they probably tell him to do it.
He's one of the few/first DJ/artists who realized that you can bull your way through this industry by having amazing PR and having a "cool" trick/theme (the mouse hat)
Go download one of his sets, they are ing terrible. He plays a single track/loop for 8-10 minutes and then goes to another song. I have a set of his where he literally plays 3 or 4 tracks in one hour.
But people eat that up because 1. They are ed out of their minds on drugs, and 2. He has a cool mouse hat with lasers!!! wow!!!

He wasn't that bad when I heard him way back when at Belo with James Z. Then again, his set wasn't all that inspiring either. All in all it could be worse... at least at EDC, you can leave his stage for another. Maybe he and Kaskade could do a back-to-back and it would be cool? Won't get my hopes up though.
Oh, and to the guy asking about J00F. It's possible he will go b2b with Christopher Lawrence on the Neon Stage and so they just haven't announced things yet. Hell, we haven't even got the proper flyer yet.
