Armin van Helden is one of the biggest names in dance music. Check him out on youtube, I'm sure you'll recognize some of his big songs.
And not keeping it till 4AM because you're not making any more profit is kinda ed up. |

| i agree. like another poster said, they're going to be releasing a hoard of drunken/drugged people onto the street with out the usual two hour buffer to sober up. that could mean an extra busy night for LAPD |

My thoughts are with everyone else in that Insomniac will make more money and save more money.
1 - No more alcohol sold after 2am
2 - No need to buy extended permit from city to extend party after 2pm
3 - More water sold during the day. IT is ing hot as hell even at 7pm in the summer with very little shade, and none in the coliseum itself. Have you guys ever been in line during the day time?
This is not a personal attack at Henry. It's just my personal opinion in that I see henry as a businessman trying to be as diplomatic as possible, defending the interests of the company he works for as well.
Also, there's one guy who was like "henry have you ever been to EDC? No one goes until night." - Dude, there are more people in line durign the first few hours than actually at night. EDC 2008 was a terrible, terrible, cluster of a line and the worst line experience in my life.

I see EDC as a day time festival, Also with so many artist we needed to start earlier. I think it's a healthy move and it could also created more events for the week. |

Agreed, although the drive home from events are always miserable, at least the roads are relatively empty do to them ending so late. This is going to cause problems for everyone. My recommendation, if you're not good enough to drive, stay inside the coliseum as long as possible, last year we were able to say till about 4:30 until the security finally kicked us out. No reason to risk getting into trouble. |

trust me - the alcohol thing is not nearly what you guys are making it out to be here... this is a different situation than a nightclub. typically you sell the alcohol concession to an outside party for a fixed rate, and in the case of the Colisuem, Insomniac quite possibly isn't might not even be participating in revenue from alcohol sales (the Colisuem may get it all). Remember they will still be selling thousands of $8 waters and food as well at a nice profit.
also, the afterhours permit is not a big deal for a party that is going to gross millions of dollars. |

| Last year one of the vendors (not the coliseum people) were selling $1/$2 water. That was full of win! |

Ah... everyone knows its gay to charge $65 for GA and have it end at 2am. especially on a Saturday. I'm taking my money elsewhere, like Disneyland. Hopefully they don't start doing this too all the events they have.
As for the cluster "F" line, last year I got in within seconds. If you get there a bit early, I got in at 830, but I took the north entrance, flawless. |

From my experience more people arrive after 8pm than during 4pm-8pm. Videos and pics inside the Coliseum seem to indicate this.
The line at EDC2008 was truly awful. I was in line at 10:30pm-midnight at EDC2008 (my first rave :)). The line took 1.5 hours to move ~100 yards. |

We stood in line for over an hour and moved two feet, at 2008
Soooo we walked up to the front and did the mosh pit thing up front, and found out they werent letting anyone in at the gates. Then everyone just rushed the gaurds and went in, it was like a mob!
Last year i think they had extra doors open around the other sides |
