| I don't see why people nowadays go into college with the mentality of "once I'm done, I'll have a degree, and I'll have a terrific job" instead of "awesome! Now I'll learn all sorts of neat things that will enlighten me about the world around me". Seriously. Even if you won't really "use" all those things you learned in school, you still "learned" those things and are that much more intelligent. |

Its more of a "why do i need to sit in a classroom to learn this?" sort of thing. We have so much information at our fingertips now that you can learn about almost anything you are interested in and have deeper depth of knowledge than even experts on the subject had 100 years ago.
Its not like going to college means you are exposed to brand new never thought of ideas, you still choose your focus and in that way are limiting what you learn. If you are already limiting your focus there then why do you need to go to a class to learn it. People that are motivated enough can learn most anything on their own if they have basic skills. |

one other thing, not finishing HS would be just plain shameful for me. I mean what the , it's HS, it's not as if it is hard. Didn't you feel like you're letting down your parents when dropping out? Didn't you feel guilt or shame?
Didn't you feel like a ing retard? |

| Of course there sometimes may be legitimate reasons for not finishing, family problems, having to take care of someone or something. But with you I feel that you didn't finish just because you didn't feel like it, or am I wrong? |

I did my 4 years, its not my fault the system only counts homework towards your grade. If papers and tests were what counted and not stupid pointless busy work then Ida past with flying colors.
High School in the US is a joke, its so easy the smart kids fail because they dont give a and they get lumped into the people that are too stupid to even pass a test. Only the people that do the pointless busy work pass.
Home time is my time, school time is school time. Make the day longer if you cant figure out how to teach everything during class. |

If you'd done your pointless busy work, then you'd be able to differentiate between "past" and "passed".

Homework was never about teaching you anything, it was about reinforcing what you learned in class. |

| The biggest advantage of going to university is you don’t end up like kismet, trancer-x, culorut or DOOMBOT. |

One of the things I've noticed about conspiracy theorists is that they have a rudimentary grasp of the disparity between what we're told and the truth of how the government/society operates, but because they're never read any Marxism, Foucault, revisionist history etc they don't really know how works. So they invent these fanciful conspiracies as a more interesting stopgag between complacency and reality. |
