You are sitting in a bar. your dad used to come to this bar once, about 8 years ago. some dude was picking on this little guy, so your dad beat the crap out of the dude. the guy got some good shots in, and put up a good fight, but in the end, he was beaten badly. your dad let him live, just barely though.
so, your sitting there, having a drink with all your buddies, everyone is having fun. the bartender is your friend, and gives you whatever you want, because he likes you, because you spend way more than anyone else. everyone in the bar is your friend, either because you do favors for them, or because they are afraid of you.
suddenly, someone comes up from behind you and kicks you in the nuts. you reel in pain, and scream in anger. you turn around and see the guy running away, and you chase him. he runs out of the bar, and into another building.
you chase him down the street, and into the other building. but, you can't find him. so, you kill everyone in the building, killing man, woman and child in your drunken righteous rage. after almost a year, you still haven't found him.
you go back to the bar, pop open a budweiser and start spreading stories about how, you are winning the war, the world will be safe from dirty nut-kickers everywhere, and you won't rest until every one of those dirty bastards is dead. everyone nervously agrees with you, as they watch the crusted blood on your hands dry.
then you notice over in the corner, the guy sitting there by himself. it's the guy your daddy beat up. he looks healthy and ready for revenge.
you get the bouncer of the bar to go over and search the guy. the bouncer is your buddy too of course, and he will do whatever you want as long as you pad his pocket a little.
so, he searchs him, violently. the bouncer says, "it's cavity search time" and throws him bent over the bar, and rips off his pants. the dude struggles a bit, but, the gloved hand reaches up there anyway. he manages to squirm away, and you suspect he might have somethign hidden way up there the bouncer didn't have time to find.
someone whispers in your ear, "hey, i saw him out back trying to sharpen a stick." someone else says they saw him picking up rocks. and another guy says he tried to buy a gun from a friend of his a few years back. your buddies start to get worried. he might have a gun!
you insist the bouncer goes for another search. the guy hides in the corner, he doesn't want to go through that again.
you tell the bar that he could be a threat, he might have a gun.
you try to raise support to get rid of this dangerous threat to the whole bar.
all the while, you have a bowie knife in your pocket, a handgun in your other pocket, an AK47 slung over your back, a grenade launcher on the table, and a tank parked outside. you also have every bar in the whole town full of people with the same, willing to fight for you.
now..
this is where we sit. you are about to kill this guy. just in case, he had a gun, and could be a threat. and the whole rest of the bar is going to sit back and watch you do it..
i'm not scared of the guy that might have a gun. i'm scared of the guy who lives right beside me, and i know has one.

ive been reading thru this thread but havnt yet gotten involved.. but after reading what u hav had to say JohnSmith i must take my hat off to u. I hav already in a post way way back told u what respect i hav for your opinions and what you hav say.. and what you hav told us in this thread just confirms my respect for you. Thanks for your great input and i hope we can all learn something from you. |

Thank you. Thank you so much, it's good to be respected. I remember you saying that before, and i was actuallly hoping you'd read this thread.
I notice a lot of UK people agreeing with me. they've been inviting me over to the UK forums and stuff, i really just don't have time right now though.
and, the important thing to realize is, my opinion is indicative of growing global majority. australians, even israelis have agreed with this point of view.
in fact i think that probably a lot more people would too, unfortunately, i only speak english, so i can't really spread this past the english speaking world.
there will always be the tiesto14s of the world, with a chip on their shoulder and ready to die for it. but, there will always be sensible reasonable people like us as well.
I only pray that it does not come to an us against them situation. I don't want to be in world war III. I'd be a draft dodger anyway, but i don't want it to come to that.
The anniversary of september 11th is drawing near, and i still see american indignance and revenge boiling over. i wish they would have caught osama(or at least faked it), maybe this bloodlust would not continue then. |

im sorry yo, but now you are just being a straight jackass. dont preach for people to respectfully talk but then at every turn you find some way to talk tiesto14 under the guise of intelligence. its pissing me off. just because tiesto14's opinion is different (may i again remind you that i agree with him? are you going to say the same words to me that you are sayin to him?), doesnt mean you should keep rubbing his face in the dirt and telling him his posts are stupid.

Look dude, i told you, i'm not responding to you unless you have something worth responding to. i'm not going to bounce back and forth with a bunch of lame arguments that i have already had, on this site and others, MONTHS ago.
but. that being said, one more time, i will reply to your questions.
Saddamn Hussein is an evil man, and needs to be stopped. I fully supported the USA going in and attacking iraq back in the 90's when they invaded kuwait. I think it had more to do with kuwaits big oil reserves than caring about innocent people, but that's beside the point. and i think it's NOT a good thing that he is in power now.
BUT. it is not up to the USA to take him out, UNLESS he makes some deliberate action against another country. it is a violation of international law for one, not to mention immoral. and it will piss of the rest of the world, and set the stage for W3.
the worlds policeman you may be, and we thank you for it. but, we don't want you to go busting criminals just because someone told you they might do something. that is vigilante justice, and it's not a good thing. and i ask you, who will police the police?
Look at it this way. America has probably produced more chemical weapons in the 3 days this thread has been running, than hussein has ever possesed. they have the largest collection of nuclear weapons in the world. your presiden, in my opinion is rash, irresponsible, and has a grudge against iraq for what happened before.
i think HE needs to be taken out, i'm much more scared of him than hussein
it would still be wrong to do that though, so don't call me a traitor or worry i'm going to try to assasinate your president or anything. i wouldn't mind slapping him though. :) |

tiesto14, he does see the threat from saddam, he just doesn't think it is our business to get involved at this point. on the other hand, if we don't take action who will? the UK won't do , and i don't see canada stepping up and sending over a force. yes, the US may be getting involved for the wrong reasons, but if we don't take care of business...the simple fact is noone else will. almost every other nation is in a little "comfort zone", and doesn't care to cause conflict. but, believe you me, if you had a terrorist blow up Heathrow...you'd want to SOME UP. |

In all honesty, who do you think is more likely to start WW3 - Hussein or Bush? |
