| quote: | | (AP) - Arab terrorists linked to al-Qaida may have tested biological weapons at a small facility in northern Iraq known to American intelligence, a U.S. official said Monday. U.S. intelligence agencies had reason to suspect that the facility, in a part of northern Iraq not controlled by President Saddam Hussein's government, was a kind of laboratory for chemical and biological weapons activity that included testing on barnyard animals and at least one man, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. |
from here
So now Iraq is linked with al-Qaida's use of chemical weapons and there exists a 100% valid excuse to attack Saddam. |

just my opinions....i may be wrong but it seems most the ppl on this thread are non-americans...and non-nyc'ers at that.
being both american and from nyc, i see nothing wrong for america to be using some propaganda for some support in the war on terrorism. i wasn't around on TA during 9/11 last year, so you might've already heard all this. That day and the following month was the most scared I've ever been in my life. I go to NYU (about a 10-15 min car ride to WTC), i heard the plane go by and i heard the boom. i had friends less then a minute's walk from WTC who thankfully were not hurt. pt is, what happened that day is unimaginably incredible and unprecedented. wut you guys argue just seems petty when i think of that day.
that's my two cents... |

My deepest condolences, honestly. I have friends in New York as well. I met this past weekend at tiesto in vancouver with a new yorker, and have been friends with DJ rapture from this site for a long time.
The events of september 11th were a tragedy, and those who did it should be brought to justice.
HOWEVER. i do not agree with the indiscriminate bombing of a defenseless country, especially when the people there has even LESS say in what their govt, or crazy religious factions do.
thousands of innocent afghani's died, and i think that is just as bad as innocent NYCers.
we all bleed the same color. |

yea, on this pt. i agree with you. It is sad that in this day and age of technology, innocents are still killed when searching for one man and his crew (albeit large). But, it still is a war, even if only one side is suffering the damages. It just really angers me and a lot of others that one man could organize all this, ignite the hatred of so many ppl and then send them to their deaths....yet is hiding his sorry ass from the consequences.
ur a smart dude johnsmith, and i don't take offense or wuteva on wut you said...it's just painful when you think about such matters and know that there really is no positive road to be gained. :sadgreen: |

I've read your quotes and i understand your stance. But, maybe because u don't live here u seee things differently. War is war. It doesn't have to be fair, it doesn't have to be right. all i know is we are fighting for our right to live. Alot of accusations have been made about propaganda this and how america is painting a picture of we want the world to see it. Some of it is probably true. But without proof somewhere from someone, the accusations you are making is just slander. i can only guess what any government really does i don't see how you could be so sure. i suppose we will find out years later from now. i donlt believe in an eye for an eye but, its really redundant at this point. we are in war and nothing is going to change that. even without the government, people sw on television what happened here and somebody has to answer for it. whether other countries follow through and help the US, i'm not sure. but do u think if we lose it will end there? i doubt it..... don't get me wrong, i have no love for war and i am in no way supporting the deaths of innocents over there. but they threw down the gauntlet on 9/11 and even before. 9/11 was not the first terrorist attack on the us or even the wtc. i don't see how even innocent becoming a priority in war regardless of who is right or wrong. I wish it could be but then it wouldn't really be war would it? just for the record, i don't support evreything the government does. i don't see why the government polices democracy all over the world. my best guess is, its probbaly to protect financial interests abroad but, i digress. bottom line is, we are fighting for survival and the last time i checked, the al-qaida weren't taking any prisoners either. |

| Others may not know this,,,, but the United states have always utilized propaganda in their attempts to convince the public to support a war. Just look at the Disinformation campaigns the broadcasted about Iraqi's, Hussein, and the Iraqi military...as result of this.. 200,000 INNOCENT Iraqi's were killed during the gulf war.....and they plan on attacking Iraq again......All i can say is that these constant invasions will bring a day when the actions of the United States will have a devastating affect on their own country. |

well.. my guess is that america has figured out that people are starting to no longer support the war. peaceloving hippies, who have nice doggies especially. it's been almost a year, and innocent people in afghanistan are still dying from american bombs.
so, i think these tapes were manufactured by the US govt, to incite more hatred against al qaeda.
this is just a guess of mine, who knows if it is true. i certainly don't. but, i do know the USA has been guilty of a lot worse lies than this would be. |
Wow, good to see someone else who thinks along the same lines that I do...
Given the current technology and the media monopoly in the hands of the rich I'm *very* cautious about taking anything I read or see at face value anymore, especially stuff having to do with the "War on Terrorism".
Bush is starting to see people turn on his "bomb the crap out of civilians for fun" campaign in Afghanistan, and is looking for any way to get people's minds off of the sour economy...I could easily see that as being motivation for a fabrication. |

Correction. they already have. September 11th was a direct result of Americas foreign policy. They have been the oppressors of BILLIONS of people worldwide, and finally someone got fed up about it. they attacked the only target they felt that they could, one that represented US financial dominance of the world.
what they did was wrong, very wrong, killing innocent people in NYC, who just happened to work in the WTC.
BUT.
bombing the out of afghanistan will not end the hatred! I don't know how people can not see this simple fact. hate breeds hate. the only way out of this war, is for one party to back down, and only the US can do that now.
mark my words, this is only the beginnning. every little boy that had his innocent father blown up by an american bomb, will grow up to be a terrorist.
and if the US attacks Iraq, which they are planning to do, they will breed more terrorists.
september 11th will not be the end, i fear there will be more attacks. and unfortunately, canada is an ally of the US, the next attack could be on toronto for all we know.
you will reap what you sow America. |
