I prefer Muay Thai. :o |
I luv sparring Muay Thai folk with thier hardwood shins and forearms, but KM, 'too many telegraphic moves', nooo, not where I train. All instinctive - we don't even have 'moves' really, thats what makes it so realistic and practical. All about attacking first. Also do Brazillian jujitsu and Kygoshin (sp) karate a bit lately.
I like gaming btw, but just not too much as for me perosnally it fels a bit un-value added, but if it's your thing, fair enough. |

it isn' ok tho. Adults playing video games, there is just something wrong. Read, listen to music , cook ... Learn about the finer things in life. Video games teach you nothing, waste your time, make you fat and cause old granny wrist syndrome or the slang term carpel tunnel syndrome.
It is an addiction people have. To have that instant gratification, to not have to go out in public.... Video games highlight much of what is wrong with this generation. Isolation, lack of exercise, lack of culture ..... A movie is better than a video game. You can analyze a movie, have a debate over a movie, but a video game offers nothing but mediocre fun.
you wan to shoot people, paint ball. YOu wan to drive, go off roading. Rent a skidoo. Go joyroyding in a stolen car. You wan to kill zombies, buy a ticket for a Trivium concert and just mosh wih a weapon. |

Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing about you. I swear it seems you only chime in when you see me posting about something.
Anyway, pipe down yourself. I't just a difference of opinion and we're all entitled to it.
I don't know people are getting so much sand in their vag;
I said there's nothing wrong with games for fun etc, and even said I had a games addiction myself, but I just laugh (and berate, with good reason) anyone that tries to tell me it somehow enhances their life/abilities/makes them better at some real skill in real life (as did happen in this thread).
Anyway, I could care less if people want to play games to make music in their spare time, or like in Richie's case, find good places to hide dead rent boys for when that need inevitably arises. |

Hang on, you can't suck at something that sucks. That's like saying you suck at being lame, which in fact means you are quite awesome.
What am I missing :conf: |

| i tried playing this online fps like a year ago. It was like space and lame. I jsut walked around and tried like dancing in front of people until they shot me. Only once did someone actually get it and start like dancing with me. It was pretty funny. |

there's a massive article on the themes of life and death in a few games out of the Zelda series, and how there's an entire subplot under the main story, told mostly through allusions.
tons of games have extremely good stories, it's not all about mindless entertainment. |

You're right. By video game standards, Halo is absolutely ing lame. It's just so generic. But I was trying to capitalize off of that generic familiarity. And here you are, completely undermining the premise of my taunt by pointing out that the entire Halo franchise is the Kenny G of the video game world. Thus, to suck at it actually makes you a better person.

video games are neat and I actually want to try that field as I think the music for games albeit much better is somewhat static. You get a series of cues that repeat until you do somehing, then it goes to another one via cross fading or something similar.
my idea , or what i would like to do is have sort of pivot chords in the music , in fact a whole bunch in every cue that you can seamlessly change the cue like it was composed that way. The only thing stopping me right now is that I am going to take some time off, get a number 1 on beatport in the next year just to piss you guys off then get back to work.
THe problem is that game designers don't understand how to make games. They know how to make things pretty, but they are just awful at story telling. |

I'm getting sick of games with TCIAB. I beat Medal of Honor on the hardest setting, week before last. Starts off alright and it is beautiful but it seems like the franchises of MoH, CoD, and Battlefield have this notion that it adds realism to the game when an unlimited number of replacement spawns can reconstitute positions you've reduced with 28 magazines of ammo; until you can actually occupy those positions. In the first Modern Warfare, it was forgivable but now it's cliche'd and takes away from the experience. |

Gameplay comes first, story is second. Most often the story is butchered for gameplay. |
