Kudos to the umpires, very brave to admit they got it wrong at first not once but twice. And on both ocassions they changed it to the right decision, well done!

The Arod call was a touch debatable...say if he had gotten around Arroyo's tag...where would have gone? The first basemen was blocking his path! Isn't that obstruction? Oh well...Arod shouldn't have made it that obvious...nothing wrong with trying to bend the rules, but a bit of a hip or shoulder bump would have suited him better. The Bellhorn home run was lucky...but you need luck to win games.

I'm just a little uneasy with the umps getting together like that. Who knows...tonight they might huddle on a close call and say "ahhh let's the Yanks..they've won enough times.":D

hehe..as you can tell, I'm having trouble getting to sleep here. Sports should mean nothing, but they can mean so much.:conf:

There is no controversy on the Rodriguez 'slap' play. He should have just accepted that he was out. Earlier in the game, the same situation happened to Millar. He slid into first to try and avoid the tag. Last year, Posada ended the World Series that way. He didn't slap the ball out of Beckett's hand, did he?

Given last nights events in new York, Houston is still my favorite to win the title. Clemens and Oswalt will be tough to beat, their relievers are pitching well, their hitters are actually producing.....

It would appear to be their year. Anything can happen though (well, the Indians cant win it this year but...)

How is it debatable? The intention was there and it's clearly a violation. It's just like any other sweep tag as the runner is going to first. And I'm not sure how Bellhorn's HR qualifies as lucky, but if all this conspiracy theory against the Yankee's helps you sleep at night, whatever.

Ho ho, another massive dinger for Pujols. I'm not going to tempt fate like last time though!

Only debatable because a player NOT involved in the play (First basemen Mentkievic or however you spell it) was blocking Arod's path to first in any event...which is precisely why Arod didn't touch the bag. Arod made the mistake of obviously batting the ball out of the glove whe he should have used his size to knock that pansy Arroyo on his ass. The HR was lucky...bad pitch on an 0-2 count which the wind took for a ride to the left side, just like how Posada's jack was held up by that same wind. The announcers were yacking on about the wind all night...didn't you hear them?

I"m not saying there's a conspiracy...but it wouldn't surprise me if the umps are doing all they can to let it go Boston's way for once.

A home run is a home run. The only lucky homeruns are ones where the outfielder involved causes the homerun by having it bounce off their glove... or head for that matter. :thepirate

Also, Mientkiewicz (that's how you spell it) was in the way, yes. BUT, that has NOTHING to do with the fact that Rodriguez knocked the ball out of Arroyo's hand. Had he not done that, he's out before he even reaches first, so Mientkiewicz is irrelevant in that particular play.

Look, I'll be the first to admit something in baseball. If something like that happened with Trot Nixon or Jason Varitek, I'd be the first to say it. But you are so biased towards the Yankees that it's ridiculous. I bet if by some chance the Sox go out and win 22 - 3 tonight, it's all luck, huh?

*EDIT* Also, the only time they mentioned wind was in Right Field. They never said anything about Left Field.

man I missed the cardinals game Im so glad they won but oh no Clemens 2morrow :nervous: .Plus I heard the Astros pitching staff is in better shape for game 7 then the cardinals.
So far my world series prediction of Cardinals vs Boston is getting close,Any other team winning 8-1 in the 4th youd think would be a lock to win but these are the red sox, lets see what happens.
