fastmp3 and his curses..... :haha:
man I missed the cardinals game Im so glad they won but oh no Clemens 2morrow :nervous: .Plus I heard the Astros pitching staff is in better shape for game 7 then the cardinals.
So far my world series prediction of Cardinals vs Boston is getting close,Any other team winning 8-1 in the 4th youd think would be a lock to win but these are the red sox, lets see what happens. |
Garner used Lidge for 3 innings today. He may not be able to go tomorrow. So that's one thing in the Cards' favor. |

Look, I'll be the first to admit something in baseball. If something like that happened with Trot Nixon or Jason Varitek, I'd be the first to say it. But you are so biased towards the Yankees that it's ridiculous. I bet if by some chance the Sox go out and win 22 - 3 tonight, it's all luck, huh?
|
Of course I'm biased. My team that I've loved since I was a kid just collapsed in the most pathetic display of choking I've ever seen. This is worse than England losing all the Euro and World Cup games...this is worse than seeing my Montreal Canadiens sink to mediocrity. These current Yankees should be ashamed of themselves. First Rivera blew it, then Gordon really blew it...then the bats just went dead. What can you do...Boston wasn't THAT overpowering...they were on the brink so many times.
Ah it...I'll just remind myself that I've seen my team win it 4 times. Nobody can take away the fact that the Yankees are a great team and a great franchise, but I fear for the future. The curse of Arod perhaps? Maybe so. I think you'll see Cashman gone within the next few weeks. Torre will probably hand his papers in. Brown, Vasquez, perhaps Tom Gordon and definitely Tony Clark should never wear Pinstripes again.
As for the Red Sox, they've been here before remember? It's not done yet. I'm obviously not going to cheer for them (I hope Clemens bites them in the ass), but if they win, they definitely deserve it. |

Agreed
Sorry i was carried away in my previous post but I was just excited that they are in the World Series now.
Like Shamez214 said in another thread (or maybe it was this one) it's not over until the Red Sox can win the World Series as well.
I agree, but for now, just the sheer comeback victory from a 3-nothing deficit in the championship is just phenomenal. and for that I applaud the Red Sox |

It can't be the curse of A-Rod because they haven't won since 2000. I say it's the Curse of Piazza. Clemens hitting Piazza and all the other theatrics that insued enabled you guys to win 1 more WS. :stongue: :haha: :stongue: :haha:
But like I said before, and Mebot pointed it out, this series over the Yanks means NOTHING unless the Sox win the WS. And they know that. |

I still think what may happen to the Yankees' front office and roster due to Emperor George's wrath might be more interesting than the World Series.:D
I'm surprisingly in a good mood all things considered. I felt worse when Gonzalez won it for the D'Backs in 2001 actually. |

Jim Edmonds is da man! Worried about Clemens tomorrow, just need to get his pitch count as high as possible, get into that middle relief as soon as possible. Suppan is a bit worrying, he has played far better on the road this season, maybe he fears the busch ;)
And what about those Redsox, superb stuff! |

Who cares what Steinbrenner is gonna do now! My dream WS is about to come through! Cards need to do the same as Atlanta did in game 4. Get through Clemens as fast as they can and hammer the Astros' shaky bullpen (Lidge excluded offcourse). Or maybe it just won't be Roger's day and he'll be gone within three innings just like last years LCS game 7 which he started.
Oh and b.t.w, both Sox calls in game 6 were correct and stop whining about lucky HRs when they happen in your home stadium... (I never liked shallow right field in Yankee stadium where routine fly balls cary the fence...) |

| excellent game! Go SOX, i can still remember that awful day in 1986, time to win one and stop all this curse nonsense once and for all! |

Can't remember a better day in baseball. Totally forgot the Cards were on and just turned it on to see Edmonds' HR. Unfortunately, I'm hoping the Astro's win, but nonetheless it's been a great series.
What a game by Lowe! I was extremely nervous with him on the mound rather than Wakefield, but Francona looks to have made the right decision. However, pulling him out with a 1-hitter to bring in Pedro has to be one of the dumber moves I've seen all postseason. Give the starters all the rest they can get, you have a full bullpen to hammer! Pedro is always shaky the first 2 innings he pitches, he's not good in relief situations unless they're 4+ innings.
And Damon finally coming through this series, wow. Ortiz told them he needed some help, and Bellhorn & Damon must heard him loud and clear.
All in all, I see ANOTHER week of getting absolutely nothing done. :nervous: |

WOW. What a week in MLB playoffs. YES, the curse of Mambino is over! I watched the whole game, with quite a lot of pleasure - my point has been proved - money doesn't always buy championships.
Secondly, so WHO'S YOUR DADDY NOW? HEHE .... I guess Pedro was brought in the game, because he was so pissed off with the chant, he asked the skipper to put him in the game, and OH MY GOD, he barely went through one inning, waking up the fans in the process ... weird move. But Yankee pitching was outright horrible ... What a monumental collapse by the Yankees, having a commanding, unsurpassible 3-0 ALCS series lead, only to lose in 7 to the cursed Red Sox ... the curse has been reversed!
So far I am 5 for 5 in my playoff series picks, I got a perfect playoff pool going ... and Cardinals should win tonight, it'll take miracle for the Astros to win, cause all the Cards big bats were quiet yesterday, cant happen two nights in a row ...
GO RED SOX! Yes, Braves are still my fav, but Red Sox have been my #2 horse for the past 3 years ... Yankees are now the cursed ones, Red Sox are free to advance and win the WS now, no need to look back!
