They will have to bump either Millar or Nixon, Francona hasn't disclosed who will be sitting yet, since Ortiz will be on 1st. He's not the greatest fielder, as he is not as mobile as Millar, but I don't foresee him causing any errors, either. Should be interesting to see Pedro go back to his roots in Montreal and standing in at the plate in game 3. :toothless

I think Wakefield should pitch a good game, because as you said I don't know how much experience the Cardinals have with a true knuckleballer. I'm hoping Mirabelli can fill Varitek's shoes at the plate, though. Varitek's been a proven leader for them all year.

Gonna stay in tonight and bust out as much work as I can, because tomorrow is the PSU game at 12, Michigan at 3:30 and then the ballgame at 8. Not going to be very productive in my drunken state. :(

Don't knuckleballers prefer the warmer weather? Forecast is to be cold, surely the ball won't have as much movement on it then?

I'm not exactly sure. But I know that the other night in Boston, it was cold and his knuckler was CRAZY that night. It was the night when he pitched to Tek and he kept missing all the balls. It had lots of movement that day.

Just read the interview with Wakefield:

Q. If the weather is the way it is today, damp, a little windy, how does that affect your knuckleball?

TIM WAKEFIELD: As long as it's not raining too bad, it should be okay. It's tough holding on to a ball with your fingertips when it could be cold and maybe a little bit dry are than it is right now. I think the humidity may help a little bit. But I think it's going to be tough conditions for both pitchers tomorrow night.

First of all, my bad, I mispelled "B"ambino curse ... It's not Mambino, and you know it. Bambino ...

Secondly, yes, I am very well aware of the payroll numbers for both teams. My point was that Red Sox payroll is smaller than that of Yankees. It's been 4 years since league leading payroll Yankees have failed to win the WS title. Who knows, maybe Steinbrenner will go broke some day? Congrats to Cardinals fans, I never doubted them, I always thought they'd win the series - even when Houston won all 3 of their home games.

So far I am 6 for 6 in my playoff series pool ... hmmmm .... maybe I should've picked Red Sox all the way, cause I didnt know they'd have to come back from 0-3 vs Yankees. Now they are gonna have the momentum of all momentums, and if they'll be down 3-0 again, dont be surprised if they come back again. What are the odds they'll lose yet another WS battle vs Cardinals, like two times in the past century. 0 for 4 world series streak since 1918 may after all end this season.

Sweet, I didn't they showed the World Series over there.. Since it is WORLD series, i guess it has to be broadcast all over the world... it's just kind of surprising to hear someone else in the world say they are watching it. :)

Let's not get carried away here. :thepirate

I say Sox in 6 if they lose the first game. If they win the first game, then in 5.

I like Red Sox more than Cardinals - so if Red Sox win, then I'll be happy, but if Cardinals will win, I am gonna have my first perfect MLB playoff pool ... either way, its all good, it better be a good series though.

anyone else notice that now we have the final 2 teams in the World Series that a trickle of votes have been tallied in the poll? :wtf:

people jumping on at the last instance to vote for either the cards or the red sox...
