they are in trouble....oh boy

Morris has been up and down all year, he was pitching off 3 days rest too. The bullpen is bound to be tired after their exertions against Houston. Williams had a poor game. Of course this means that we have no pitching whatsoever due to 2 games. Get a life!

Umm... then the same thing goes for the Red Sox. Let's be serious. There are no excuses.

Pedro has to get on top in game 3.

His fastball has to bb across the plate, and his change-up should be a crucial pitch in his performance.

NO more errors! hehe :p

True, but to judge an entire pitching staff on 2 bad games just gets on my nerves. The Cardinals pitching has been pretty damn good all season, no team can win over 100 games with no pitching!

If we win the first at Busch who knows what can happen!

I'm not worried about the errors. Varitek was at fault for not backing off, and the two balls hit to Mueller were both sharply hit, at least he knocked them down. Neither cost them any runs, and weren't game changing.

The game tomorrow night comes down to the first two innings. If Pedro can get through them, and go 6 innings, I think the Red Sox have a good chance to win. He's proven to be shaky here of late in the initial innings, almost as if he's trying to throw too hard. I just hope Francona makes the right decision on when to pull Pedro, especially with how their bullpen has performed.

I still say we won both games because we have yet to see Leskanic! ;)

Did you forget about the team in the Bronx? :thepirate

But, the Cardinals do not have that one ACE. They don't have a Pedro or a Schilling or Santana or Prior. Their ace is Matt Morris... who has been anything but an ace this year. Chris Carpenter would have been nice for them to have in this series, but they don't. So their pitching really is pretty poor (on paper) right now.

I PREDICTED THE CARDINALS IN 6 BUT NOW THEY'RE DOWN 2? IT'S STILL POSSIBLE TO WIN 4 STRAIGHT SO I STILL HAVE MY HOPES FOR THEM.

... So my point is, maybe in another 50 years or so, Red Sox will finally put together a PERFECT team and win the friggin World Series. All the Red Sox legends will then resurrect and go to Fenway park and celebrate ... You know, Halloween ... May I live to see the day ... Boston will be a city of love, the happiest city in the world, every Red Sox player on that winning team will be forever remembered ... kids in Boston schools will be taught to memorize the team roster by heart in order to pass high school ... blablablabla ...

This maybe the year, I think the impossible is going to happen ... But how can it be possible if its impossible?!?

Good luck to the Red Sox. History is on their side: 77% of world series teams that took a 2-0 lead in the series ended up winning the fall classic. (37 for 48)

0% of teams down 0-3 ever came back to win it. Screw statistics. ;)

I don't think we will see that again for a long, long, LOOOOOOONG time. But way to go Boston, because, from now until the end of baseball as we know it, whenever a team goes up 3-0 in the playoffs, the '04 Bo Sox will be mentioned.
