Wakefield sucks...who even throws pitches like that anymore? I could ing hit that crap off him. 78 mph fast balls? Leave him in there long enough and the Yankees will crush him.

Boston might get 2 of 3 at Fenway...but blind faith won't win you a whole series.

you really do know nothing about baseball.

In the past 3 years, Wakefield has a 2.82 ERA in 13 games against the Yankees.

Wow... he sucks, huh? Moron.

He had two good seasons, but this year he was crap. He blew it against NY last year in the 11th in Game 7 and couldn't hold NY in Game One this year. The Yankees lineup this year is revamped and nicely improved. They hit Wakefield around hard this year and will likely do so again. I wouldn't put him in my starting rotation at gun point.

These are really interesting observations that you are making. Especially considering this:

Wakefield has a 1.83 ERA against the Yankees this year. In nearly 20 innings against hte Yankees, he has given up 4 earned runs and the Yankees are batting .179 off of him.

They really hit him hard.

Lol.

Dj Smitty20, try to come up with something factual next time. Your constant anti-Boston drivel is getting old. It's not even fun arguing with someone who can't support anything they say.

doesn't change the fact that he blew last year's game 7 and couldn't hold the yankees in game 1 this year. He went 12 and 10 this season...if you really feel confident with him on the mound, that's your problem. But everyone knows he's a loser on a team full of losers.

:stongue: :haha: :stongue: :haha: :stongue:

If you expect him to be Cy Young out there and never give up a run, you're an idiot. No one can do it. Not anyone on the Yankees. Not anyone on the Cardinals. It's just not gonna happen.

He pitched extremely well last year in the playoffs. He pitched extremely well this year against the Yankees. I keep proving your points wrong yet you continually come back with "well, they still suck." If you think Ortiz, Manny, Pedro, Schilling, Varitek and Damon suck, you really shouldn't watch baseball because you don't know anything about it. I'll be the first to admit that Jeter is good, that Matsui is good, that Posada is good, etc. I hate thickheaded baseball fans.

Of course they're great players. They scare the crap out of me every time they go to bat, though I am NOT afraid of Boston's pitching. I never expected the Yankees to come back and win last year's Game 7. in fact, I was on my way up the stairs to work on my essay when the rally started. The difference is that these Boston players, like all the rest before them since 1918, have not won ANYTHING.
