Can we please stay on topic?
You can put it with what icing or sugar coating you want. It all comes down to how long artists are willing to put up with people stealing their music, and also having the nerves to justifying it.
Now, back to topic please, this isnt about the whatabouts of illegal mp3s, this is about vinyls contra cds. |

Totally agreed with your post. The true purists and music fans will continue to collect vinyl for the feel / nostalgia / etc ... but the way for labels to push forward is to go along these lines.
Props for stepping up and telling the truth on how mp3s are helping the scene, instead of using it as a scapegoat for a label's downfall. |

Yeah i agree with you there, in the professional DJ'ing scene there isn't much of a problem, it's more in the personal circuit where vinyl's aren't really worth it.
If i'd want to go out to the shop and buy a single, it'd be pretty darn nice if it'd be on CD so i could play it. To me Vinyl's are more of a collectors item, i can't do anything with it except looking at it like a painting, which would be the kind of status it would have for me.
Anyway, good post, and also enjoyable to reply probably my favorite producer of all times :P |

I've been using my promo copy of your one man army tune as a placemat for ages now, it wipes clean easily & still spins fine, have to make the vinyls useful right :p |

As others have said before, I am a vinyl whore. I don't intend on switching to cd's, but they could have more of a prescence in the sales of EDM. Here, in Denver, there are a few record shops, but you won't find cd singles. It's, pretty much, all vinyl. The labels would be smart to push cd's more. Especially with the technology that has been developed in CDJ's and the new technics cd player. I will, more than likely, continue to buy and play vinyl for it's feel, but the option should be available. On the other hand, I don't want them short-pressing all the vinyl so that I can't get any of them. There should be a happy medium. |

It definately wouldn't hurt if some of the labels finally started seeing the benefits and possibilities of cd's.
Buying mp3's just doesn't do it for me, and i've never been to crazy about cd's either, although i do use them.

| I sure would like to see more trance releases on cd, but as said there could be additional vinyl releases to back those up. As for me I will continue to buy vinyls, because I just bought TTs, cd-decks are just so expensive (at least the high-end models are)... |
