Actually, I'm just talking about trance obsessives in forums like this one. The general listeners of trance around the world are only casually interested in it, and aren't so caught up in the evangelism of it all, which makes them virtually immune to any form of speculative influence and bias. They don't think about trance 24 hours a day like you people do, and they quite simply can't be made to care about what people's opinions are on it.
Ironically, the people who are the most fearful of me giving others the wrong impression about trance seem to be the ones who know the least about it. |
Stop generalising everyone on this board, especially me, under that garish umbrella definition. And the music scene is bigger than the few stupid Internet boards that register high-up on your list of links that provide you the most hits. You may have come here to terrorise the inhabitants of this forum, but your sweeping statements don't enhance the credibility of your argument. We all know trancecrackers suck Ish. You aren't going to make your penis appear any bigger by trampling their weak arguments. |

At this point, my big penis alone tramples their weak arguments.
It makes me feel so badass. |

Isn't it the middle of the night in your neck of the woods anyway? |

Me? I don't care about stupid people doing stupid things. Educating them is a waste of time. That's why they're stupid, after all. I'd much rather throw a water balloon at them and go "now you're stupid and wet, head." |
To each their own. I guess this concludes the argument. I am surprised at this response though. |

| Talk about a waste of bandwidth. You people amaze me sometimes. The entire premise of this arguement is just absured. Don't you people have anything better to do? |

I sat down, went through mountains of sets, read reviews, releases, articles and web forums, and judged the best DJs in criteria such as showmanship, technical proficiency, track selection, originality, and, of course, the ability to get you off your seat and onto the dancefloor.
After several days pouring over notes, I finally found him. The guy I now call the Best DJ in the World, as proclaimed by the world's snarkiest scenester:
|
sat down? mountains of sets? reviews? releases? articles? forums? then judged on all those things?

um how did u do that? If u sat down at - home how did u get on the dance floor for your experiment?
Also to make your decision using a dancefloor did you happen to see EVERY DJ on the planet - sit down in the club and then see if he made u get up and dance? But if he didnt he was crossed off your list? WOW that must have been some clubbing experience seeing EVERY DJ to test!!!!!
You can't REALLY determine unless u REALLY did see EVERY DJ LIVE...but we all know u didnt, wont, cant and you are basing your decision on MP3s and $19.99 headphones...surely u cant be serious. |

Whats next?
Which are the top 3 colors of all time list?
The only people who even pay attention to such lists are wannabe elitists who THINK they are some how cooler cus they "dont" listen to the top 3 DJs on the list or the conformists who "do" listen to the top 3 DJs on the list to keep up with the Joneses...
Personally, i could give a rats ass about awards, lists, hype, etc..i listen to what i like, be it Sander, Tiesto or who ever else...and nothing will tell me otherwise....i guess i am an individual. |

Top 3 colours of all time
Grey: Right between white and black, it's the balance of all colours and intensities.
Black: It's stylish and nihilist at the same time. Most contradictions come from this colour, in every possible sense.
White: Wet shirt contests. Period. |

It doesn't matter which DJ you think "pleases the crowd" more, because everyone goes to a certain party already knowing what they want to hear. As long as Tiesto drops a new trance track every five minutes, his crowd is happy. As long as Z-Trip mashes up every record from every genre, the crowd is happy. Switch crowds and they wouldn't be so happy. Or actually they probably still might be as happy for the most part. You can't judge DJ's against each other that have such different expected styles on how well they please the crowd. The crowd will be pleased as long as they do what the crowd wants, what they are known for doing.
What i'm saying is that making the crowd dance is mostly giving the crowd what they already came in wanting (mostly music to dance to) rather than the DJ using his uberskilled talent to get them dancing.
As for my previous message, I was unclear...I meant that there is no evidence that either Ishkur's guide has swayed "newbies" (or anyone else) or it hasn't. It probably has swayed a few, but that number is surely insignificant beside the number who have read it and whose opinions have remained intact. |
