people are still, and will be, dying and are susceptible to maladies on account of the explosion of that nuclear plant and the radiation it dispersed. |

I'm obviously not talking about Chernobyl, which is surrounded by concrete since that accident. In case you're not aware of this fact, there are several other nuclear plower plants in that region ;)
If I said the party was in the US, you wouldn't have thought ot the Three Mile Island, would you?

Armin van Buuren is clearly the number one dj.
Let's see... he does a weekly two hour set broadcasted worldwide that's been going strong since 2001 and never fails to entertain despite the whole "gone too commercial" bull. He can still rock out 7hr sets to promote an album that is about his weekly set. Aaaand still make tremendous albums and produce tremendous tracks. |
You know what? I'm in. Forget Tiesto, Armin or Z-trip. The number one DJ is:
DJ Kosmonavt
Yes, that's it right here. No more of that Dutch trance bollocks, no American thugs... the best trance ever comes from Estonia.
First of all, he was born in Soviet Russia. This fact alone already makes him a lot cooler than you're average windmill lover. He's played in nuclear plants (refer to my previous post), he's played in hockey rinks (something only a Canadian would be able to achieve)... and he probably played at the birthday parties of all those gorgeous Russian tennis players (yes, Kenneth, even Myskina). And there's more: he lives in Estonia. While Dutchies are happy to get high in mere pubs, the Estonian even have their country named after their inherent high state.
And, as if it really mattered in the pursuit of the world's best DJ, he's also a good musician. Think of a trance genre. Trancecore? He's done it (superbly). Goa? Better than any bloody hippie. Cheese? Armin wouldn't beat him. Prog? Sasha's a joke compared to him. In fact, he would often pair up with DJ Zayats, which would also be the number one if he had not disappeared :p
Want more info? http://www.radiotrance.ru/ (the band he and Zayats founded). The fifth link (from left to right) is the audio part. |

And it's not ing rocket science. Oh wow, he played a tune without beats to start out his set, he must be GOD!
If I roll my eyes any more they'd fall out. |
your logic and reasoning are so childish i wont bother with you anymore...
EDM started off and has remained club music....email any producer and he will tell you...start a poll here on TA and they will tell you...
this is pointless. |

| It really makes me question some of your guys knowledge when you dispute the fact that EDM was designed for clubs....seriously makes me wonder.:nervous: |

I've never ripped on modern eurotrance for being commercial or popular. I rip on modern eurotrance because it's boring, predictable, and fake.

I can name atleast 100 better DJ's if pop rap w/ breaks is what you want.
|
At this moment, I am listening to a Z-trip set....he is playing Henry VIII (I am I am). Without being patronizing or sarcastic.
pop rap w/ breaks? Is that all you think he plays?

bad boy bill is better than this kid.

Badboybill is top 50, no doubt. But his commercial mixes are all studio edits and he's been known to be sloppy from time to time. His (CHICAGO) hard house mixes are awesome. The one glaring omission from his expertise is his versatility. Z-trip plays everything. The #1 DJ has to be the most well-rounded. |

Still waiting for this indefensible proof you have.
Up until the CJB in 94, most EDM and raves were acknowledged to be rooted in clandestine gatherings and outdoor parties.
The whole "superclub" thing that gave rise to the rockstar DJ is a recent phenomenon, in fact. |

Back to the topic at hand...
Whats the difference who the number one DJ is?
WOuld it make you stop liking who you already like?
Like i said in my first post...rankings mean nothing to individuals.....if you listen to a DJ because he has a high ranking and that is the sole reason for you likeing him...well that makes you a conformist, a follower and a poser.
Listen to what you like....because in the end it is your ears that you must please! |

Maybe where you live....
I was in clubs in 1990 listening to Techno, DnB and house....
Matter fact Frankie Knuckles (the godfather of house) was spinning house in the early 1980s at The Warehouse in Chicago. Disco, which is part of the evolution of EDM, was played in the 70s in clubs.
The "superclub" thing is not new...it has just gone international....i remmeber first hand waiting to go certain famous DJs in 1991,92,93,94,95,96 etc...it is only in the past 8 years or so that international DJs and the advant of the internet forums did it get big the way it is now...but it was always big in NYC for many DJs for years before i was even clubbing. |
