Sure. Clubs are a terrific avenue for EDM.
But where is this undeniable evidence that EDM is meant for clubs and only clubs? |

It is when you're including everything.
I never said Z-trip was the best house DJ, or the best trance DJ, or the best jungle DJ. He is the best DJ, because he has mastered all of these styles.
The winner of the Decathlon is not the fastest runner in the world, nor the best high jumper nor the best javelin thrower. But he is still bestowed the title "best athlete". |

How about we start another thread in Music Discussion...and see other peoples opinions...
We will ask people - is EDM (Trance/Techno/House/Etc) meant for clubs?
And i NEVER once said EDM was only meant for clubs....what i am saying is that it is desgined for clubs...that when a producer makes a track he intends for the track to be played in clubs MORE then at home or in the car....understand? |

When a producer makes a track, he intends for that track to be played, PERIOD. He doesn't give a where, by whom, or on what system. His desire is to get his music exposed to as many ears as possible. Whether that be in the largest club in the world or over the phone as the "put on hold music" or dumped into the city water supply, makes no difference to him.
My god, this is a stupid argument. |

not in my opinion. to be terse, i hardly even go to clubs, and when i do i like to get hammered and hit on chicks. the venue is usually overrated and the music is by and large anyway. |

OK fair enough...in today's day and age i agree with your arguement. Being EDM has grown and is lucrative now you are right when i think of it.
However, like i said when it first started it was designed for clubs.
Back in the early 80's when house was invented in Chicago, DJs were not selling tapes/CDs...their tunes were for DJs to play at clubs...thats what i was trying to convey with my arguement...i should of made myself more claer. |

One of the very few things that I seem to agree with you on, Ishkur. Others include retarded Florida breaks (sucks especially if you live in Florida :wtf: ), and *core (terrorcore, speedcore, hardcore, noisecore, crapcore, etc). |

I'm sorry, I must have missed the memo:
Show me where God himself came down from the Heavens and inscribed on two tablets that EDM is meant for clubs only?
("...farmer's fields, movie studios, apartment lofts, banquet halls, backyards, barns, nuclear power plants, bank lobbies or any place with a nice, flat area suitable for dancing...") |
...aircraft carriers, inside buses that were cut in half and stacked on top of each other in a junkyard...
heh |

i listen to noisecore and breakcore. why is it retarded? because you cant see the musical worth it has? it must be too profound and abstruse for your little trance-influenced mind to handle. your just not musically ready to understand it. im sure there are alot of genres you havnt experienced yet and still put to shame because of your bewilderment... |
