You think this matchup favors the Mets until you remember Pedro's daddy. Mets lead early, lose late when Pedro tires.
Saturday - Big Unit vs. Heilman
No need to analyze this blowout. Yanks win from start to finish.
Sunday - Pavano vs. Ishii
Matsui shows him what a real Japanese player is like. Pavano continues his brilliant performance from yesterday into the Mets game.
Feel the broom against your backside biaaaches!! |
actually Pedro got moved to sun, try again |

| Ahhh... they're thinking ahead to try to avoid being swept. Pavano vs. Pedro. Doesn't change anything considering Yanks will bludgeon Pedro late with a Dominican midget. |

ahhh yes things starting to get nasty....
zambrano vs brown = beware of baseballs flying out of the field of play
johnson vs benson. i actually liked benson's previous matchup, vs pavano. benson vs pavano was a pretty even matchup. somehow the mets did pretty well against johnson when he was in the NL with the astros/d-backs so you never know
pedro vs pavano. should be pretty good.
i can make cases for both teams winning each game. here's hoping the mets can stop the yanks.
yanks have been playing some pretty weak teams of late, like the dregs of the AL west, and the devil rays. pretty much have to wait and see. |

Hmm.. Let's see.
Zambrano v. Brownie.
Who knows which of each will show up. The no-hit wonder Zambrano or the 5 walks in 3 innings Zamby? The 12 hits in 3 inning Brown or the 1996 Brown? This game is a complete toss-up...
Benson v. RJ.
While I think Benson is going to be great for us, he's going up against RJ. So I guess this one goes to the Yanks. But Johnson better start striking people out... but start after this game, please.
Pedro v. Pavano.
Pedro is a different dude than he was last year. Depending on how his hip feels, he either demolishes the Yanks or just keeps them in check. Pavano doesn't scare me. So... this one to the Mets.
Basically, either team can win this series. Both have a shot at sweeping. But it will likely end 2 out of 3. That first game is the tie breaker. Kazuo has been hot lately and last year he killed the Yankees. Piazza's getting hot. Robinson Cano has been hot... but he won't have Derek Jeter to protect him in the 8th spot and will instead have a pitcher. Let's see how he handles getting pitched to in that situation. Speaking of Jeter... man can he hit. Giambi's showing some life, but who knows if he'll even play. Is Torre going to bench Bernie, Cano, Giambi, or Womack? Both teams are playing extremely well as of late, but against ty teams. So this will be the first challenge for the Yankees in about 2 weeks and the first challenge for the Mets since last weekend, where they held their own against the Cards, but dropped 2 of 3. Should be fun. |

No more Joe Mac. :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:
And notice that me and Sal have both said we can see both teams winning these games. Unlike the Yankee fans. Seems like more Yankee fans hate the Mets than vice versa... |

I don't hate the Mets, just pity their fans.
Kris Benson's wife's a whore, he loses that game. Makes no sense I know, I rarely do. |
