I'm not from New York so I really don't feel the hatred to the Mets. They are the same to me as the Phillies, Rockies, Cardinals, or whatever. Just another team. I think though with Beltran and Pedro they are a lot more exciting to watch. I'm looking forward to my first Mets/Yankee game this year. I want to catch a Giants/Mets game too because the Giants have always been my fav national league team and I want to see Barry Bonds.

I only hate the Red Sox and the Mariners.

at this rate, doesn't look like you'll see Barry Bonds in action any time soon :p

Good performance by Pavano tonight, helping bring the Blue Jays down, which also brings the BoSox back up to tie for first after they complete their blowout against the Orioles. :)

well, it's finally happened, that Yanks are the most expensive team to be alone at the bottom, after (suprisingly) two straight losses to the Texas Rangers, and (even more surprisingly) two straight wins by Tampa Bay over the BoSox

but as they say... it's only April :)

at least the Mets are playing well, and are just 1 game out of first place

You'd think all that money would have bought a better team this year - or at least a more entertaining diversion from reality. :(

The Yankees starting pitching has been TERRIBLE to say the least. They've given up 111 runs this year, most in the majors. They've *only* scored 94 runs. Which is actually tied for 5th most in the AL (with the Blue Jays as the tie, Red Sox, Rangers, and Orioles all scoring more runs). I dunno man... things are really looking shaky for them. That rotation doesn't excite me past Randy Johnson. And he should be the stopper at this point where they need him most. But he hasn't been that yet... Hopefully today, for their sake.

Yeah, I'm starting to worry. A lot of guys are looking really old. Juiceambi is looking pathetic. He needs to take another cycle. What the Fawk is wrong with A Rod? The guy has made a few errors and seems absolutely lost at the plate so far. He punches out way more than I ever remember him doing.

I think the Big Unit will be back very soon. He has done it too many years not to find his groove and his WHIP so far is 1.00. Plus, 27 k's and 5 walks. That's signs that he's gonna be there soon.

Again, today it looks like the Yanks are all or nothing. When they're on, they are dominating. But they haven't been battling to get the tough wins.

Pitching staff:

RJ - will be dominant self soon
Mussina - will be solid but nothing spectacular
Pavano - will be good, easily the Yanks 2nd best pitcher.
Wright - He sucks!! Why they didn't keep Lieber is beyond me.
Brown - A pathetic piece of crap

So... I'm wondering how Ming Wang will do. We'll see this week when he fills in for Wright.

You can't say it's early forever, they got to turn things around quickly. Last year they were 8-11 but then won 8 games in a row.

patience, young jedis...patience...those who lose faith now were never really fans to begin with...they jump off the bandwagon right when they see a little trouble ahead...

so not to worry....theyll be fine...

I have pictures of me wearing Yankee gear when I was 2 years old. I watched almost every game in 1990 when the Yanks had the worst record in baseball. Don't fret Yoda, the force is strong in this one.

Big Unit looking good so far today.

same here...one of the first memories of a yankee game that i saw was when leyritz was a rookie and the umpires robbed him of a home run...the next pitch he struck out then started screaming at the home plate umpire and tried instigating a fight, then got kicked out...
