I think most of the peeps on this board aren't huge sports fan like us. Some are but not a ton. A lot are casual fans. I'm pretty psychotic about it all...

I'll sock someone that calls me a bandwagoner. I was a St. Louis Rams fan during the 1990's when they had the worst record of the decade. That gets you used to some of the "downtimes." It was like the draft became my Super Bowl. lol But then 1999 happened...

Yes, I think everyone is seeing that they have become very similar to the 80's Yankees. Think about it, when Georgie left the Yanks won and then won after with the same core group of guys built from when he was gone. Once those guys started to decline, the old mentality creeped back in.

And OLD is the key word in all of this. Every team so far has run the Yanks into the ground. It's one thing if they are rebuilding or have some exciting prospects growing and building up to something in the near future. It's another to have a $200 million payroll and completely just look like a piece of crap out there day in and day out. It's very frustrating.

Anyway, going to the game again tonight. Zito (who really sucks this year except the last start) vs. Messina.

I got Sunday/Monday too sec 39 bleachers. (inc Seattle with Vernon).

I love to see Ichiro, he's a man!

When the Yanks really sucked in 1990 I used to watch everyday just to see Don Mattingly's at bats. But then he got hurt...... anyone remember Kevin Maas?

I don't know whether to start Zito in my league tonight or not... I think I will.

I know you are man, but I've never heard you say anything bad about the Yankees... ever.

I go with trends and Zito pitched well last week. Yanks bats are hard to predict though, boom or bust.

Unbelievably bad way to end what was a good game against the A's... so tragic...
First the Yanks score 2 in the bottom of the 8th to come back and tie, 3-3. But in the 10th, errors by Tino and A-Rod, and Jeter should've been charged with an error. Rivera walked the leadoff batter, hit the 2nd batter after that (with 2 strikes), and later walked in another run with the bases loaded.

im beside myself now...im just speechless...the last time i seen them play this bad was 92 and i hardly remember it...

Eeek. That was the worst I've ever seen Mariano.

On a lighter note, Piazza hit two bombs, Cameron his a MONSTER shot to center and D Wright went the other way for a homer. Yay Mets!

Is there room on the Mets bandwagon? ;)

Man, I froze my ass of tonight! Rivera walks way too many guys nowadays and it hurts him, but none of the hits they got were out of the infield.

Yanks look so listless. They look like the same quitters from last years playoffs. Very annoying team, hard to like much of anyone.

They should put Andy Phillips in LF where he ended the game, Matsui in CF, Womack back to 2nd, Bernie riding the snide, Juiceambi on waivers eating like 80 million in salary (lol), Brown on waivers, Sierra at DH when healthy, and Cano back to the minors.

I like my plan! That leaves horrible starters and relief. So...

I become a Mets fan.

j/k

I didn't understand why they didn't just put Bernie in Left Field instead of benching him... But whatever. I wonder how long the Yankees have to play ty and the Mets have to play decently before the Mets start getting the back pages... ?

BTW... there's always room for more Mets fans. As long as they are the intelligent ones. Not the ones who chant "Yankees suck!" when we're losing to the Astros.
