That will change after they play Phillies tonight.
If they can sweep this 2-game series, and Marlins do likewise against Nats, then they could play for 1st against either Marlins or Nats later this week. |

They won't finish last but they are looking older by the day. Or at least definitely iffy to win the division. Look out for Baltimore and Miguel Tejada.... that dude is carrying one of my fantasy teams. We'll see, I'm just a crankee Yankee fan at the moment. Went to yesterday's game and saw the Blue Jays run wild. They were running around the base paths like cheetahs. I sure wish the Yanks had more speed, it's basically PayRod, Jeter, and Womack to do anything. Speed doesn't go into slumps as much as bombers.
Great trade idea b/w Yanks and Mets mentioned. Yanks trade one (or some I don't care take the lot of them) of their crummy middle relievers to the Mets for Mike Cameron. Bernie Williams' throw from CF yesterday was easily the weakest throw in the history of baseball... reminiscent of a throw Michael Jackson would make. I wasn't sure he underhanded it or not.
Next 4 games against Tampa Bay at home. If they don't win these then I'm really gonna blow! |

No soup for you!! Newsday and ESPN mentioned it but it was definitely only a rumor. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO on Eric Duncan. Yanks need to keep the young talent. They need to peddle off some of these old scrubs to get more young guys (with speed hopefully). Me love speed.
They need to hire better scouting for pete's sake!!

If I heard correctly, Bernie will not be starting in CF anymore. Womack is starting in LF. Robinson Cano was called up to start at 2nd (I can guarantee he'll have a good start and most Yankee fans will think he's their savior). And Steve Karsay was designated for assignment. Yikes. I guess they're trying to shake things up any way they can. |

Woah.. I can see the Yankees gripping big time. I read your post before I read the paper and I thought that you must have had a crazy dream last night. Cano has been lighting it up in the minors so far this year and has some pop in his bat for a 2nd baseman. Matsui played CF in Japan. But LF in Yankee stadium is really difficult and Womack has no experience there whatsoever. He played some in RF and a tiny bit in CF. Pretty drastic moves!!
Plus, Big Unit is hurting and the Yankees recalled lefty Sean Henn from AA Trenton, who is 2-1 with a 0.71 ERA. Hmmmm.......

whatevs...what im most concerned about at this point is getting giambi some at bats...out of all the bats that need to wake up, his could be the most explosive...
about womack at left field...i have no idea...youre telling me there wasnt anyone else who could fit better in left field other than womack?? why not stick the rookie over there?? i just hope it's a sign of tinkering and not panic... |

The only way Gimabi's bat will wake up:
IMO, benching Bernie over Giambi is just silly. And I am certainly going to watch more Yankees games now to watch "The Misadventures of Matsui and Womack" in that outfield. Gross. Anything hit from LF to RC should be an adventure. And anything hit to LF will probably be an extra base. Womack has ZIPPO on his arm. Dude had Tommy John surgery 2 years ago. |

Please man, his real name is Juiceambi. And he's done. No bat speed.
Matsui has plenty of experience in CF in Japan and already has played a few games there for the Yanks and did well. He's not a problem and can't be worse then Bernie who sucks ass there. Womack.... well..... that's another story. He's been Knoblauching throws to first when he's tried to turn two the last couple of weeks. Look out....
Maybe Messina started to turn things around last night. Maybe Brown will be alright (ha ha... good one Brian).
Anyway, Yanks will make noise soon. They still have some talented dudes left. |
