I am completely one with R-Yeah here.
Some famous djs regularly play cd's. In the zillion, one of the biggest clubs in belgium, some djs play with cd's. I saw carl cox playing some tunes with cd's. and its not the material you're playing with, its what you are playing! thats the most important!
but i understand too you have to listen to your crew. i find you have to give cd-djs a chance too. Listen to some mixes of this contest, i think you'll change your opinion.
okay, playing with vinyl has a bigger status, but that doesn't mean they know better how to build up a set, what songs are good, ...
btw i'm a cd-dj too, but i think you kind of suspected that :o) |

Pls dont see it that way...we runned the other station with lots of fun,we just wanted a step further, that doesnt means i dunt like the other ways of mixing, cuz can sound REAL good, its just a policy, not an opinion bout the sound....
Its just a group of tt-dj's who wanna share that with eachother, like there shall be also stations who are meant 4 cdj's...
Dont feel attacked pls, thats not what i meant.. |

R-YEAH UR RIGHT MAN !!!!!
I mean I got no offense at all to the people that spin on TUrntables, but people who say that CD'n is not DJ'n WILL GET HIT EVENTUALLY :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: CD IS AS ING HARD AS SPINNING ON TURNTABLES !!!!!! XEPT ON CD U CAN CUE, AND ON TURNTABLE U HAVE MORE ACCESS (NO CASE) DUHHHHH
CD = NOT BPM MATCHING !!!! (at least not on CD players that me and R-Yeah are using)
"Things you need: turntables (only tt-mixing @ basicbeats) " that is so RACISM AGAINST DJ EQUIPMENT
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D |

| Hey, I used to hav CDJs and now I only use my dex, and the computer if I need to use songs that I can't get on vinyl, sequenced mixers are cheats, but ppl who use good DJ software can mix just as well as anyone else, also I could do strictly vinyl mixes for you, but I'm on 56k so the only way would be to send u ppl CDs of my mixes and you to stream them, but I would not be willing to do this unless you let in the CDJ ppl. |

Well listen, its not like we are desperate or something,so we wont change our whole policy.
Im just looking 4 guys with a couple of tt's and a mixer, guys who cant find a club where they can spinn there vinyls.
Im not looking 4 guys who r not read things right and feel attacked this fast.
We have guys mixing from all over the world, some of us know eachother for years now thru irc,and some of us irl.
All we want is to make our dj-team bigger, and have more fun.
Guess im not at the right place, see ya

HAHAHA. What an intelligent discussion, really people give yourself a round of applause. To all the people whining about CD DJs not being as appreciated - that's rightly so. Just take a look at the last set you played and see how many tracks you have copied and burned off MP3. And then you play them in a set. Beautiful. Vinyl DJs at least go out and PAY for their music and support the artists that make the tracks. Unlike a large majority of CD-DJs I know.
You people need to accept it, it's their shoutcast station, they determine the rules. As simple as that. If you ask a person to pick between a set played on turntables and a set played with CDs, guess which they'd rather listen to? There's a certain flair about vinyl ... maybe because not everybody can play it ... but people DO prefer vinyl to CDs. I'm not saying that CDs shouldn't be used, but they are still (and probably will be for a long time) being used in conjunction to turntables, to play the odd track that wouldn't be possible/practical to have on vinyl. It's all about what the audience wants, and they want a vinyl DJ. Again, nothing against CDs (I have one CD deck myself, that I don't use too often though ... anybody want to buy a CDJ-100 ?) but they just won't replace vinyl any time soon.
So give Donna a break and try not to jump down people's throats next time just because you don't like something they say. Or at least make some intelligent comments. Proper spelling wouldn't hurt either. |
