i would accept a VBR or 160/192 MP3 rather than a 320. Going that high won't make the tape sound better and just eats unneccessary bandwidth and space.
I encode the mixes I upload with LAME using VBR with this command line: -b 96 -m j -h -V 1 -B 192 --lowpass 19.5 --nspsytune --vbr-mtrh --athtype 3 --ns-sfb21 2 -Z -X0
gives good filesize around 165kbps and sounds like a 192.
I use the --r3mix setting for my own archive. |

I record sometimes from tape, sometimes direct to the comp, I have a SB Live 128! sound card which is pretty and tape generally gives a better quality. When I record from tape to computer the quality ain't that bad, and I used MusicMatch in CBR 160kbps for this mix, which is okay but some of the sound seems to have lost its stereo quality.
Cyrax the CD is in the mail, AIRMAIL, only cost 90p too! It should be at yours tomorrow if your lucky, more likely Friday though, and probably Saturday at the outside, its nicely bubblewrapped in a special envelope. There's a note inside the cover, there's no cover art but I haven't had time yet. Some of my songs and various other livesets are in there too for ya. Everything seems pretty self-explanitory though ;) |

I have some space to put direct downloads from a guy on this forum who shall not be named because I dunno whether he want's it getting around, you know who you are and I am very gratefu! I will PM you the details tomorrow Cyrax once I find the link, I'll put it on anti-leech download because it is a number FTP (or I have heard the word PUB to describe that type of FTP) and I don't want it getting leeched by forum browsers who will most likely get it banned. So I hope you can understand guys. Also I hope you can download 50MB at a time, the server isn't slow and it has a lot of bandwidth, otherwise if the judges can't download that much at a time without resume, Cyrax if that happens could you upload it in 3 chunks split with HJ-Split, I will mail that to you if you need it.
This competition looks like it could be a good one, d'ya reakon we should have a go at asking Elef aka Plastic Angel if he would like to judge too? |

i can't compete this round b/c my computers are having errors....
not to mention when it comes down to competition time, i get nervous! :D
heheh....
BTW i dont know if anyone ever mentioned this before... you don't need 2 soundcards to be able to use headphones & speakers with traktor or VTT...... but i'm sure you guys already knew that.

Hey Do You guys still accept people?
me and Tek Spin on CD's....with no f.. BPM counters, nor any other cheese. Sorry, i got no money for vynil...
I use 2 CDJ 100's, and Tek uses Geminies.
Both of us are VPM, so we would like to be in this too.
