Got to Guv at 11, waited for an hour, moved two feet, ended up paying for...ahem..line bypass, got in. Yeah it was overpacked, but all I can say to that is, it was NOTHING compared to when Ferry was there. There were still a few places you could find place to dance. As for the crowds...um..I dunno, for the most part it wasn't anything special. The music was killer though. Got tired and bored by 5, left, went home and had a good night of sleep with my love by my side. Good night, but not great.
IMO, it'll be a month or so before I go back to Guv, and I think I'll just wait and go for resident night.

So here's the story of Toronto and Lawler from the Detroiter. :)

Left around 3pm from Michigan and got to Toronto around 7pm. We went to Miss Penny's first to drop off our stuff - LOVE THE PENNY!

And so we left the place at 9:30 am FINALLY. We went back to Penny's and then Bri and I decided to evade the drum n bass (love you girl, but we were in pass out mode) and went down to the lake to lie down on the beach in the sun and had a little nap. Kris

DETROIT IN DA HOUSE! Good to see all the Detroiters at Miss MoneyPenny's!

Im assuming that's you in your avatar?

If so, I met you kinda early on in the night. I was the ing baldheaded Marine w/sunglasses!! & I was hanging out upstairs behind the booth.

We talked music for a few moments, & then we met up w/a friend of yours out on the patio. Anywho Nice to meet you bro!

tis was my 2nd time @ the guv.

Musically probably one of the best nights/mornings ive ever experienced. Just wicked.

the crowd, well everyone's mentioned it....pretty ty.
The private party more than made up for that though.

cant wait to come back to TO for NYE.

thanks to Kris & Michelle.. for well....just being you. I had an excellent time w/you guys!

Special thanks to Penny for letting us Detroiter's use her place to hang out & get ready for the ing distruction we went through & also to chill out at afterwards.

what a night...
started out so well before that disgrace of a contest ruined the entire vibe that mark had so excellently created.

The last few songs before lawler did not really do it for me..i blame the contest which was a complete sham. They should have done it on stage like previous years.

Lawler was brilliant...he simply tore me apart with his tunes which were much darker than anticipated. Simply outstanding music from the man yet again. Unfortunately a couple of things took away from the night...one was the ridiculous crowd which i have grown used to by now..but still it was nuts...secondly we left at about 4.30 am which is a disgrace but i just wasn't feeling very well at all. I've been fighting food sickness all week and working lots of hours so i guess it all took a toll. Shame cuz we got a couple of passes to the afterparty just as we were walking out. Disappointed to say the least...

I went to guv 5 years ago for Halloween when it was a solo set with Oliver and it was nowhere near that packed....just thinking about guv when it's that busy makes my skin crawl!!

I think they ended up just giving first prize to the transformer dude....it was a cool costume. I think the guy in the coffin should have won. It was a complete disaster though. It would have been better if they had staff pick out 5-10 people and put them on stage and then let the crowd decide or even better.....not have a stupid contest at all. It completely ruined the vibe.

note to self...do not spend all night dancing with a wig down your pants...endnote
