Yeah , he totally blew it three times! The 53 yarder I can understand but hes got to make one of those 40+s. I had Seattle, so I was glad, but you feel bad for the kid. |

| I have to agree. Eli is having a good year, but not even close to the year his brother has had. Eli's numbers look good when you take his age into perspective, but hes still only completing about 52% of his passes, which is third worst in the league. The real MVP of the Giants is Tiki Barber, with a strong average per carry and fourth in the league with yards put up. Of course, the offensive line is probably the real MVP, blocking for Tiki and allowing Eli the time to complete some passes. With receivers like Burress and Shockey, the Giants have big receivers who are able to use their size to get open, the Giants are a pretty fine tuned offensive machine when Eli is on and Feeley isn't blowing the game. For the second, I doubt hell have to worry about that; he'll almost certainly be cut by the Giants this week, if any type of serviceable replacement is avaliable. |

| Shaun Alexander or Ladanian Tomlinson for MVP |

Even as a Cincinatti and USC hater, I think at some point you've got to mention Carson Palmer. He's got a better completion percentage than Manning, a higher quarterback rating, and has thrown less interceptions all without the 5-star receiver (despite the numbers, tell me Chad Johnson is better than Marvin Harrison) or the world-class running game.
A nice dark horse candidate is Champ Bailey from Denver. He's got 6 picks, tied for most in the NFL, 2 returned for touchdowns. If he can have a few huge games against division rivals Kansas City and San Diego, expect to hear his name pop up in conversation about MVP.
Besides the obvious candidates Manning, Alexander, and Edgerin James, some other candidates may be Chad Johnson (having a career year), Drew Beers (similar to Manning in that he benefits from a strong supporting cast), and Drew Bledsoe who has the Cowboys on the cusp of the playoffs with a strong year statiscally. If I were voting today, my pick would probably be Peyton Manning; he makes every Colts game worth watching, and is thus the league's most valuable player. |

i'm just being a f'n drunk wacko, and pick my random guy of the year to bandwagon as mvp .. last year was ben roth .. this year is eli .. next year, i probably will be campaigning mvp ballots for ryan fitzpatrick from harvard .. what a game he had .. then again, it was against the houston texans (still no free damn coffee damn it!!), but good game from him ..
ryan fitzpatrick for MVP in 2007 !!!12345
:nervous: .
seriously, i would pick shaun alexander for mvp .. he's been ripping up defenses for lunch and dinner . |

After yesterday's performance, I'd have to disagree with Brees. He's quite overrated! P Manning is undefeated and beat the Bengals. That trumps Carson. His numbers better than Eli's and his team is much better. That trumps him without a doubt. Not even close.
Chad Johnson is probably as good as Marvin right now... at least as good if not better. Marvin is a sure fire hall of famer but at the moment, Chad doesn't have quite as good a supporting cast as Marvin and has better numbers. Chad for the win this year. Marvin for the better WR over his career so far.
I'll have to give it to LT for now even though Alexander is a very, very, very close second. Peyton third. LT practically wills his way to Chargers wins and that big run yesterday is hard to overlook. Alexander has a way of tailing off at the end of the year but I doubt he's gonna this year. He's pure money.
Still games to play to make this vote now.... |
