Actually about 64% of major league baseball players are white. Blacks only account for 9%. Hispanics at 26% (increasing number from 14% in 2003). Also, the Houston Astros played in the world series without a single black player... the first time since the 1953 Yankees. The numbers for blacks has been decreasing for over 15 years.
However, in pro basketball, blacks account for 77% with 21% white. 55% of the white basketball players are American and 45% European.
Pro football, 65% are black with about 34% white. However, in college football, 49% are white and 42% are black.
I think it's interesting...
98% of hockey players are white
During the 1998 season, 62 percent of the players in Major League Soccer were white, 16 percent were black, 21 percent Latino and one percent Asian-American (sorry I couldn't find worldwide soccer stats). |

I was a little shocked even though I know there aren't many black hockeyplayers in the NHL.

Ex-TopCat cheerleader is sued
The nurse who got a shiner in the bathroom of a Channelside night spot on Nov. 6 has sued a former Carolina Panthers cheerleader for the punch, according to the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES.
Melissa Holden, 26, of Tampa filed a lawsuit Friday against Victoria Renee Thomas.
Thomas, according to police, had been in a bathroom stall at 615 Channelside Drive with another cheerleader, Angela Keathley, who was not named in the lawsuit . The cheerleaders emerged after other patrons yelled at them, at which point Thomas punched Holden, police said.
Holden, represented by Tampa attorneys Jose Toledo and Erik Gillespie, said Thomas "intentionally, willfully and maliciously assaulted and battered" her. Holden, a University of South Florida student and nurse, seeks more than $15,000 for her injuries.
"I've been humiliated," she said Friday in an interview. "People assume I have a boyfriend or a husband who beat me up."
Thomas, 20, of Pittsboro, N.C., faces a battery charge and two other charges relating to false identity. At the time of her arrest, she identified herself as another cheerleader on the team, police said. Her arraignment is Jan. 15.
Keathley, 26, of Belmont, N.C., faces charges of obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct. Her arraignment is Monday.
Police said the trouble began when Thomas and Keathley tied up a restroom stall while having sex with each other at the restaurant and bar complex Margarita Mama's and Banana Joe's.
Thomas later denied that she was having sex in the bathroom. She and Keathley, who have since been fired from the Topcats cheerleading squad |

Chris Carpenter won the Cy Young in the National League. Roger Clemens is without question considered the best pitcher of his generation and has 6 Cy Young awards. Randy Johnson is probably considered the best left handed starter of his generation.
Travis Hafner and Mark Teixeira finished in the top 4-5 of the MVP voting.
I don't know why I'm talking about this... it's kind of funny. |

I think most good players in baseball are spanish so there :p
Basketball will be 100% black/spanish/asian and euro in 10 years
Football will be mostly black in 10 years except for the QB position
Hockey...always will be white
Nascar will always be white
but really who cares what race it is but this is the random thread so there ya go;) |
