how long before a picture of them on the court, walking away from the camera, shows up in SI?

I think this trade makes sense for Celtics because obviously going young wasn't working for them for years, so they needed a boost.

I really can't blame Danny Ainge for pulling this off.

Well this is actually a great tade for the Celtics, no downsides for this trade like some people think.
Those 3 guys will be finished in 3 years but why not take this little risk? who knows maybe they can steal the Eastern Conf or even the championship if some other solid players will join and they will remain healthy.

It kinda reminds me of Miami when Shaq came to town, everyone said Miami cant beat games with only 2 people but good role players came and things fell into place.
Eddie House already signed with Boston, if another two guys like PJ Brown,Matt Barnes or Pargo will sign bcz they want to ride these 3 stars sucess Boston could really have a chance.

In the Worst case scenerio they will have 3 huge expiring contracts in a few years:wtf:
Exp. contracts worth more than actual good players nowdays.

to tell you the truth, their 3 guys are still producing solid numbers

Kevin Garnett has shown no signs of slowing down, posting his average numbers every year. the only stat that dropped, compared to his previous years, was his fg %, but that just dropped a couple of points. no drastic change.

Paul Pierce is a guy a lot of people have forgotten about. just 2 years ago, he posted his best season 26.8 ppg. he's a decent rebounder, and a good passer. the fact that boston practically tried to tank early in the season last year reduced pierce's value. i think he's going to have a solid year, depending on how many shot attempts he's going to get.

ray allen is coming off of 2 ankle surgeries. i don't expect him to be ready until january, even though reports say he's going to be ready at the start of the season. he can still shoot the 3's at a consistent rate, and pierce and garnett will definately draw double teams away from him. when you play one on one with allen, it's impossible to guard him in the perimeter, depending on how fresh his ankles are.

i think the biggest concern about these 3 now will be shot selection. pierce and allen definately needs about 15 to 20 shots per game to be productive, and garnett can take about 10 to 15 shots. i think the biggest advantage of having all 3 together is that they know how to get to the charity stripe, and they are excellent shooters. pierce and allen both shoot 85+%.

this team reminds me much of the milwaukee team in the early 2000s with allen, cassell, and robinson, but this team is a lot better than that team. :stongue:

i am making reservations to maybe board the Boston Celtic bandwagon. all they need now is a decent point guard. not a great one, just a decent one. Rajon Rondo might be their man. he closed out last season with good numbers.

/edit
after looking at their career stats, they all average about 15-17 shot attempts a season, and still able to post 20+ points per game. in my opinion, this year, all post at least 21 ppg, and a total of 65 ppg. every night, book these 3 for 65 points. if all goes well, boston is going to be very tough to handle.

Reggie Miller might 'unretire' to play for Celtics at age 42. WTF

just hop on before Rockabye does...

AND

although I've ALWAYS hated Reggie Miller with a passion... like I hate that MotherFUa-s0dfius0-dca... but not as much as Jason Kidd... but as much as I hate the doooooouuuucccchhhhheeeee... I love this talk of him coming to the C's...lol....

FINALLY the Celtics learn from Billy and Pioli... see if you bring TALENT to Boston, everyone wants to come play here... just took Danny Ainge 10 friggen years to figure this out.... but I'll let him pass....

as for Reggie Miller ........ i think he's still in excellent shape. He can come off the bench to backup ray allen, and play about 10 to 15 minutes. he's the spark plug that Boston needs when their starting 5 is struggling for points. He comes on the floor, and hits 2 or 3 3's in 1 1 1/2 minutes, and brings Boston back in games. Reggie Miller can be Boston's microwave.

agreed, and he'll actually look good hurling up 3's... even better looking than Toine hurling 3 after 3... (yes I loved seeing Toine launching behind the arc... and I always will!)
EvilTree
Reggie Miller is 42. 42!!!

And he haven't played in NBA for what, 5 yrs?

As good as Reggie can jack it up from 3 point land, he's frigging old and I doubt he'll be able to keep up, esp. be a liability on defence.

The cycling team currently under the name "discovery channel", formerly known as US Postal, will no longer exist after this season.

Nike-Adidas battle over Beckham

Posted: Friday August 10, 2007 10:25AM ET

Will David Beckham re-sign his $4 million-a-year contract with Adidas when it runs out in 2008? Insiders say it's not likely now that Nike is knocking down his new Hollywood door to lure him to its brand campaign. "Nike really wants Beckham, especially now that he's in the States," said the source. The soft-spoken husband of Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy, though he's been injured and hasn't played much yet this season.

for some reason, I thought he was signed for like LIFE with Addidas, and only 4 million a year???

This is a no-brainer, Nike will be THROWING cash at him, he'll probably get more than LEBRON!
