This notion of forcing religion down someone's throat or pushing their idea of morality on others is so off based, they are just catch phrases for people to use to rebuttal with. I have yet to hear of atheists being pursecuted by believers or a restraining order being filed against a person for "witnessing". There is not one thing you can't do that is being pushed upon you by believers within legal limitations.
It might be a surprise to you but our government works better than you believe. Gay Marriage was left up to the states and so far no state has voted for it. Roe vs Wade has yet to be overturned and would be a miracle(or insert whatever atheistic word you want their to replace miracle) for it to be overturned. There are enough checks and balances into the system where if one party becomes too great the other will catch up. This fall we will see Democrates take back the House more than likely. What we are striving for is balance not a one-side winner and that is what our society should be. We need each other but what we don't need is making a mockery of each others views. |
