I think the Raps could give any team a good run for their money, but yeah, best chance would be against Wizards.

2nd place would be even better...Raps for Nets? That would be a great rivalry!

I agree. Detroit and Chicago would be our hardest opponents. Cleveland maybe...but their PG situation is crap so if we play solid against them we can win. Miami, whether with Wade or not, we could take them. If Wade comes back then he's going to be out of a rhythm with the team, so the Raptors could capitalize on that. Washington, especially with their latest injury, I expect us to just roll over them.

The fact that they haven't played in the play-offs yet doesn't mean THAT much. People are really putting too much emphasis on that aspect without realizing that a lot of their players have played in important games. Plus, the depth they have will go a long way towards outlasting their opponents.

LOL

BTW, did you guys know that since the beginning of 2007, the Raptors have been the best team in the Eastern Conference?

I think Sam Mitchell is the biggest problem that can potentially prevent Raptors from doing well in post-season. This game vs Miami just nailed it for me. Just my opinion...

Looking forward to next season when he's gone. lol

how so and what makes you so sure he's gone?

^^^ rumours are he'll take over Bickerstaff's head coaching job in Charlotte when he retires this year. I don't buy it...I think Colangelo makes Sam one hell of a good contract offer. If he doesn't, he'd better have one *hell* of a replacement in mind, because I think Sam has been stellar.

you've got to be kidding...the *last* thing this team needs is yet another coaching change. I'm not the GM, but I'd be offering him one hell of a contract to stick around...the rumours of other teams trying to lure him away have already begun.

Sam has come a long way since he first took the helm...instead of coaches anonymously making fun of his lack of intuitiveness and poor coaching decisions, he's being openly praised by his peers.

There is *zero* dissent in the locker room, from all accounts...and a team that's be revamped nearly from top to bottom is on the verge of winning their division for the first time in team history.

TJ Ford made a horrible decision on the 2nd last possession...the ball should have been in someone's hands who was going to drive to the basket. Sure, he hits those shots often enough...but a layup or dunk is a *way* higher % shot and also comes with the opportunity to draw a foul. Open, off balance jumper with tons of time on the clock...not so bright.

They should have left Calderon in for the end of the game, IMHO...he's bigger, better defensively and would have found a teammate instead of taking a crap shot.

just my opinion...I love TJ, but those were two poor decisions at the end.

I love Sam but to be honest, he's the one that put Ford back in the game, and designed the final play.

I haven't seen the game, but TJ's made quite a few big shots before, and he's the number 1 PG. He's been more consistent offensively than Calderon who may be a better passer, but shooting wise sketchy at times.

Hindsight is 20/20. Ford is still learning the game and is a young guard.

I don't expect perfection every game.

As for Mitchell leaving rumours, it'll be nuts for the Raps to have a head coach change when they are finally on right track.
Other than few head coaches in NBA, getting someone else would be a downgrade IMO
