:p

Srsly, though, there's too much at stake if you don't attend :(

what really pissed me off is that tickets were cheaper at the door than when i bought them online.

Honestly, this is part of the reason Armin has lost it. WTF. A transition like that is such a buzzkiller. I hope for the sake of everyone the whole set wasn't like that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I think this is the reason the scene has half lost it, I mean truthfully you won't catch me playing most of what he played last night a ton of times, it's just not my way, I just really like how it all came out. Most of the tracks that get me goin are songs like Supernature.

I hear ya...also your and Kris' comments about pushiness and stomping and rude crowds.

Re: the ticket, I bought mine for $52 but I didn't bother checking because it doesn't really matter anymore; when you've done it, you've done it, and at least you had peace of mind leading up to the event, no?

Re: the pushing, I almost got into a fight with someone because when I told him not to shove his way in front of me and walk behind me and the few people I was dancing with, he just pushed me right across the dancefloor, and of course I couldn't let that go unpunished. Then a whole bunch of TAs got into the middle of it and broke it up. Tricky T, you're the man...will have a proper shoutout in my review ;)

All through the night people were just barrelling by without apologizing or any care whatsoever. Catalina, Ania, poor Paula, so many people were just shoved around and I could see their grimaces and I felt so bad because I hate seeing my friends' vibe/buzz getting killed. So I'd get pissed and shove those people around. Anyway, those moments certainly took away some of the pleasure for me but the highlights of the night made it worth it for me. :D

I wouldn't completely agree. If you live in Toronto, you might get that impression. We get all the same DJ's all the time who know how that people will love them regardless, but other cities in the world have about 200 different names that pass through their club every year and DJ's know they have to 'step it up' (I can't phrase it any other way). The sad thing is, the obvious is not to go see the big names in a sort of demonstation but club owners here won't change their booking agenda, they will just delete that genre off their plans (I wouldn't be surprised if Armin & Tiesto stopped DJing, so would Trance DJ's coming to the GTA). If I only listened to Trance at the Guv, yeah, I'd def think the scene is dead.

PS. Fahad man, your lucky that guy didn't fight you... he just saved his own life :D. I can picture you strangling someone with ur towel in the KH washroom and everyone being too sketched out to do anything about it!!! LOL

WOW WHAT A WIKKED NIGHT!!!!

quick review

Blake Jarrell (8/10) ----> Unfortunatly I only saw him for 1/2 hour. He played good tunes though. There was a weird technical dificulty that happend. Did anyone notice it too? whatever, its no big deal

Armin (7/10)----> He was not bad. He started off pretty bad in the beggining. But then got more energetic trance for a long time which was fun at first. But then it gets you really tired and can't react to his music well enough. The enegretic part of his set was pretty monotone, which is even worse with the koolhaus sound system which is mostly bass, and some of the nice and faint melodies you cannot hear at all. No offence, but compared to markus Schulz, Armin sucked.

Some tunes remembered:

Mr. White
Roadkill(I think he played it)
Firefly
Great Escape (im not sure about this one, maybe im imagining he played it)
Anthem
Children
Why
Whatever
Crosses
Fly Away
Light the Skies
Read My Mind
Outsider(Cosmic Gate remix)
Louder (I think)
Love you More
This World is Watching Me
Supernature
Magneshira(sp?)
Analog Feel(Rank 1 remix)(someone played it, but can't remember who)
Smack My Bitch Up

MARKUS SCHULZ (9.8/10) ----> HONESTLY, this guy is fkn incredible!!! Its my first time seeing him and I don't listen to many of his sets. He was just toooo good!!! He owned everyone with wikked beats, crazy buildups, sick melodies, and special effects.

Nigth overall (9/10) ----> All I have to say is the Guv has to make another similar event in the future in KH.

Well when you put it in perspective like that, then yes that is true, there is no competition for DJ's to step it up when they come here cause they are not always here, and only big name acts get booked here, which is pretty much the only time you will hear all these tunes we like in any live environment at all here.

Out in Europe which I am looking forward to partying in has a way better scene, and can't wait to experience that.

Yes Fahad did looked a little miffed...it sucks when you have things like that ruin your night. There should be a one time only TA EDM for not just the Toronto ones, but all of them. You know you aren't gonna get any of this crap from any of us as we'll just dance all night instead of be pricks like the other 1000 or so people that have no clue what is going on in that club.
