Alright alright,
It's just that you guys are ripping all the young generation, I know it's a problem, but again it's not everybody..
And Marcus little emo kids don't elbow me like ever, unless they are picking a fight, and thats different. |

Come on Jay! Back then it wasnt easy like it is now. There wasnt any torrents and it took actual $$$ to do this stuff. You had to invest a lot of time and effort. Now all you need is dadas computer, cracked version of a DAW, plugins and the vengeance minimal sample cd and your a producer. The real guys understood what sound was and how to manipulate it without presets. They actually enjoyed learning and breaking boundaries! Still exists of course! But good luck to this new generation of kids to try and understand all this! It will just get worse and the word original will no longer exist in techno. |

while you are right about the cost, one thing has not changed:
if you can't fill the place, no one will book you.
look at tiga, when the guy was starting he could not mix instant lemonade. He still played parties like swirl. |

lol you guys are funny how many generations are there in this case??
look.. theres 2 generations
the old crowd
and the young crowd
then, there's 2 groups, which mixes generations
those who know edm / who know which DJ is playing, are here for the DJ
those who dont / who are exlusively here for the party
the scene has always been like this
it's not like "hey in a few weeks we're getting a new batch of party kids coming, we're gonna have to teach that generation"
wtf ?? ?
you have as many older people in the party that have no clue whos spinning
as young ones...
btw sorry to burst a bubble but i see way more steroid transformer arrogant beefed up s giving attitude
then emo kids !! (whose elbows by the way, if u cant take, makes u a sissy)
i mean caaaaaaaamannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ure edm snobs
condescending like frenchmen to colonies
"we can teach you the ways of the superior human"
stfu already, you were in their shoes yesterday
and for the record..
what kind of a retard would rather party with woodstock crackheads wrinkled to the ears who are just ing buzz killing to see
then emo kids who move around a little bit too much???

Hopefully this will not change. I don't care if you can mix with 4 turntables on a wheelchair backwards! Dj'ing does not meen anymore. Neither does having good tracks. Its all about who you know and your timing. This is not the best way to go about things but its the only ideal way of doing it with this overload of dj's. |

You missed the point completely
People here are not complaining because some people don't know the music, or are here just for the party. Those are good people. They learn when they come, they hear other sounds, other music, new music. They are tomorrow's customer.
People here are complaining because they don't like the younger generation's attitude, for their manners.
The thing is, yes, of course, the younger kids are pushy, they are not always polite, and they make the older crowd (who may know or not know the music) a little angry. But the reality is that these pushy kids are also tomorrow's customers, and if you don't accept being pushed a little, then in 10 years, you don't have anyone coming to the parties. |

the Piknic product has reached maturity...it's only normal that the organizers cash in on their efforts and investement at this point. In the case of Piknic, that can only be done by having several thousand paying customers every weekend. The first 1000 people is us... the core that made piknic what it is...but the other 3000 will most likely be kids. You can only expect Piknic to bring more electro bookings to attract the younger crowd that loves to spend their parent's money.
This being said, we may not see the same invasion as it was the case at Igloofest because most kids don't think it's cool to party during the day. Fido will be a loyal sponsor once again, but I doubt that Musique Plus (which I blame for the fluo invasion at Igloofest) would be interested in sponsoring the entire piknic season. |

yes.
that and who cares about being at the front? The cool kids can have a good party anywhere as long as they are with good people and can hear the music.
Its not trance here. :p |
